Question about Nintendo Wii Console

1 Answer

We are getting the following message every time we put in a disc. "An erro has occured. Press the Eject Button and remove teh disc, then turn the Wii console off and refer to the Wii Operations Manual for help troubleshooting" Basically, the Ops Manual doesn't help troubleshoot the problem. Is our Wii toast?

I wish it was the disc going in the wrong way. We had a 1 year old that kept messing with the console all weekend and he kept unpluging and taking things apart. I did find him a few times putting discs into the console with it unplugged. Thanks for the help!

Well I have 3 kids and let me tell you this I had this happen a few times to me and guess what it was? the kids put the disk into the unit the wrong way.

Also as far as your case if it is not working 100% then it could be the lazer is out of alignment as well which is fixable.

also with no disk in try pressing the eject button a few times and see if the motor sounds right on the unit but after that I think it might have just come out of alignment the lazer that is.

Error message error occurred. press the eject button and remove the disc. turn the power off and follow the instructions in the console manual.

First turn the Wii console power OFF, and remove the AC adapter's AC plug from the power socket. Next, check wheather the disc is dirty or scratched. If it is dirty, gently wipe with a soft cloth from the center to the outside. Wait about 5 minutes. Then plug the AC adapter's AC plug back into the power socket and turn the console power on.

If the same message still appears, the Wii console may be damaged. Turn the Wii console off immediately. Remove the AC adapter's AC plus from the plug, and visit support.nintendo.com for additional troubleshooting or call 1-800-255-3700.

We are getting an error message everytime we load a disc

Hi,

Try the following options.

1:) Soft Reset:- Press the reset button on the Wii console For 2 seconds.
2:) Hard Reset. :- Unplug The Wii Console For 5-10 Minutes. As once unplugged it resets itself.
3:) use a CD/DVD Based laser head cleaning disk, to remove any dirt/dust from the laser unit.

Cannot get New Wii to work.

I would take it back and have them replace it. However if that is not an option send it to Nintendo for replacement under the warrenty.
