Question about Whirlpool Calypso GVW9959K Top Load Washer
I have since trashed the machine. I could not find any repair company that would touch it and the repair costs far outweighed just buying a new (inexpensive this time!) washing machine. I bought another one from Sears and they picked up and disposed of the Calypso
If you have any additional info on how I can get in on that class action lawsuit I'd love to know. Since I bought the machine 8 years ago, I have no idea where the receipt is, but Sears has my repair visits on record, do you think that would suffice as proof that I bought it and had it?
Thanks again for you help - feel free to call me if ts easier for you at 781-248-8865! Karyn
The class action lawsuit comprised of people who still owned their units and needed repair. what whirlpool would do is send a repair technician out on their own, they would get a list of parts for the washer and replace them when the parts came in. i own a calypso and my u joint went out and whirlpool repaired it free of charge over a 400.00 due bill to them. was just good that it never came out of my pocket. however ive since learned how to fix my unit. bt i havent had any issues with mine since the u joint and pump were replaced. i replaced the pump myself and other tuff rquired a special tool. im not sure if they are giving compensation on the washer but its worth a call to whirlpool.
