The clear lenses on either side of the top part of the E-series Rainbow are removable. If you look at the each lens you will see two sections on the top edge of each lens that looks like this |___| |___| about 1 1/2 inches in from each end. Put a small screwdriver in the middle of each one of these (I used 2 screwdrivers at once) and pry out. The clips will come undone and you can remove the lens this way, exposing the screws which hold the motor cover on. On my E-2, there were 4 screws under here, and once I removed them, the top came right off.

I don't have the manual. I never could get to the actual motor. I just cleaned it out and changed the belt and it has been working fine ever since.

How do I get the motor out of the power nozzle on the E-series?

The eSERIES Rainbow has several versions of the power nozzle. Some screw apart and others have snap connections. Look at our website on the manuals page to determine your model. You can also call us and speak to a Rainbow Specialist.

The power cord is split near the base unit

There are 2 screws on each side of the top cover of the Rainbow ‘E’ series vacuum cleaners located behind the decal windows. To get to the screws; use a non-scratching tool such as a plastic putty knife and pry out a corner of the plastic window, carefully pull out the plastic window and decal and remove the 2 screws. Repeat this process for both windows and then just lift up the top cover to expose the inside.

Don´t know how to take my Rainbow apart.

Your model is a bit newer than mine, but on mine, I have to peel off the foam rubber gasket that seals the canister to the top of the vac when you put it together. You will have to replace this gasket once you peel it off. Under the gasket are the screws that hold the top cover on.
Hopefully your model is similar to mine, and this is the answer you need!

I don't know how to take apart me Rainbow e2 series vac.

I recently took mine apart because the motor stopped working. Realized the brushes were pretty well worn down and one side was completely gone. I was looking on the internet for detailed instructions on how to take it apart. I ended up just ripping it apart with no problems but made a tutorial to help you guys out. Here's a link to it

This is for the e-series vaccum, not the e2 but they pretty much have the same design and same motor (e2 has a 2 stage motor).

Let me know if you have any questions

did you ever find out the problem with your rainbow? Mine did the same thing today- turned on the switch yet nothing happened. Think it needs a new switch???? Do you know how to get canister apart after taking out first screws?

I can't take apart the Rainbow Rainmate to clean it.

The E series has a clear plastic window on each side that you remove to get to the screws, remove them and it will come apart. Some will have tabs instead of screws.

Remove suction motor on rainbow vacuum

Take off the water tank, remove the screw, should be four, that will separate the 2 pieces, remove the rubber seal, remove the screws, 8 If I remember, disconnect the wires to the motor, it should pull out. Replace motor, hook up the wires, screw it back together, glue the water seal back on.
