I have the same problem with the Diablo 550 W Black Chrome power supply. Unfortunately the black part of the resistor has turned to powder and flaked off so I cannot identify a part number.

THR1 is reference designator for the component on the PCB. What is the marking on the component. THR1 is a thermo resistor and is probably a TO-237 outline package. On the black tab part of the device it should have a marking like R100 or PCT with a symbol to represent the manufacture.

I have changed the thermal device and still not heat

There are several devices in your system. You replaced the the thermal cut out designed to interrupt power when the temperature reaches 250 deg F. A thermal fuse is also installed which "blows" at 390 deg F. A third control device is the thermister which signals the control board to control air temperature. When it fails the system is designed to generate signal such as beep-beep-beep. To test the heater itself you can disconnect one end and measure resistance to determine that the heater is not burned out. Also you can read the voltage applied across the heater (if there is voltage but no heat the heater need replacing)
The control board gets a signal from the sequencing system. The manufacturer will provide a schematic for your machine if you ask.

How can I fix my Jura Impressa z5? I have an error 4 on the display of my Jura Impressa Z5 coffee machine and other than turning it off at the power it won't do a thing.

Error 4 is in Plain text a Temperature measurement error in steam cycle (circuit)

Causes / Remedy:

Sorted in order of likeliness !!!

1) Thermal sensor is defective. Determine the resistance value at 20 degrees C to be about 12kOhm. - Replace thermal sensor if not.
OR
2) Cable broken to the thermal sensor or oxidized contacts. - Replace / repair the cable.
OR
3) Logic board defective - replace electronics / replace EEPROM.

If you want to do the job yourself. Parts for repair solutions above are
1) Replacement Thermal Sensor with cable GBP 19.99 plus postage
2) if you can fix broken wire or oxidized contact no need for parts
3) logic board GBP 198.99 plus postage (there might be the possibility to have EEPROM on the board replaced at a fraction of the price. Defective board must be sent in first.

It also is possible to sent in the machine for repair.

I've located the thermal fuse on the blower housing and there is no continuity. Next to it is the drier thermister and I have no continuity there either. If I replace the fuse where do I go from there?...

The thermal fuse is blown open due to the thermistor being open (no continuity). The thermistor is a negative temperature coefficient resistor in which the resistance varies inversely with the temperature. Since the thermistor is open (infinite resistance), the electronic control board "thinks" the dryer temperature is too low. It then activates the heater relay continuously which makes the dryer overheat and blow the thermal fuse open to stop the motor which eventually turns off the heating element. Replace both the thermal fuse and the thermistor and it should your problem. They are manufacturer part numbers 3392519 and 8577274, respectively. The part numbers AP3132867 and AP3919451 are used only by www.partselect.com.

Print head replacement and resistance setting

Check the label on the back of the printer.
If the configuration has either 10500-2xxx-xxxx or 10500-3xxx-xxxx, you don't have to set the resistance manually, the printer sets it automatically.

My 2006 kenmore elite dryer wont turn on

The F40 code indicates a communication problem between the main machine control and the blower motor control board. According to your symptoms, it is likely that this problem is being caused by a blown thermal fuse. I recommend the thermal fuse for continuity.

Unplug the dryer before accessing this component. Access this fuse and pull one wire off. Measure the resistance across the leads of the fuse using a volt/ohm meter. You should measure near zero ohms of resistance (continuity) if the fuse is good. If you measure infinite resistance (open), then the thermal fuse is blown and will need to be replaced.

NOTE: If the thermal fuse is blown, check for a restriction in the exhaust vent to the outside of your home. This type of problem will cause the fuse to blow.
You can order a new thermal fuse from the Sears PartsDirect website. The part number is 3390719.
This should fix your dryer problem.

F150 2004 blower working only on high position.

this is because your blower motor resisters are burned out for speeds 1,2 & 3. High speed does not have a resister.

Replace the resister. If it goes a 2nd time, it is because your blower motor is failing & drawing too much current.

it is behind the glove box I think. It is in the plenum case where air blowing on it keeps it cool.

Easy repair. May need to access throught glove box which should open all the way down when you squeeze the sides in.

Go to tascafordparts.com for a discounted resister.
Please rate as solved problem if this is what you needed.

Blower Motor Switch Resistor
Blower Motor Resistor Coils 9ba1105.gif Blower Motor Thermal Limiter 47afe58.gif The heater blower motor switch resistor has the following features:
  • The assembly is located on the passenger side of the plenum assembly behind the glove compartment (06010).
  • Three resistance elements are mounted on the resistor board to provide four A/C blower motor speeds.
  • Depending on the heater blower motor switch position, series resistance is added or bypassed in the A/C blower motor circuit to decrease or increase A/C blower motor speed.
  • An overheating protective device (thermal limiter) will open the resistor coil circuit when the temperature reaches 121°C (250°F), interrupting the blower motor operation in all speeds except HI.
  • The thermal limiter cannot be reset and is not serviceable.
