I have the same problem with the Diablo 550 W Black Chrome power supply. Unfortunately the black part of the resistor has turned to powder and flaked off so I cannot identify a part number.

THR1 is reference designator for the component on the PCB. What is the marking on the component. THR1 is a thermo resistor and is probably a TO-237 outline package. On the black tab part of the device it should have a marking like R100 or PCT with a symbol to represent the manufacture.

My computer will not power up at all been looking for another compatible power supply since this one is discontinued need help immediately.. enermax eg425p-ve

I'd check into a DiabloTek PHD650 650-Watt Power Supply. It's a higher voltage module, but has similar features to your Enermax power supply. If you can't find it locally, check out TigerDirect.com (my fave) or NewEgg.com. These two sites are likely to have these, and are competitively priced.

I've just installed a psda400 Diablotek power supply on an older compaq. On power up, no fan and red flashing light. Any ideas?

Get another power supply from another company. I purchased a Diabletek PHD450. It failed out of the box (verified by using known good supply). This was in July 2009. I got a RMA and they returned the same dead power supply with the same problem. After several calls I got another RMA. I returned the supply. UPS confirmed delivery. they still have not sent a replacement. It is now April 2010. When I call the support number on their web site I am given another number - no one is ever there. NEVER AGAIN - DIABLOTEK IS DEAD.

Capio Power supply Question

The ThinClient's (neoware) don't take much power, like LCD monitors. I have replaced countless 470uF caps in LCD's, so I'll bet it's the one. A possible test, however, is to desolder it, take a multimeter set to measure resistance, and connect the leads of the meter to the leads of the capacitor. Watch the multimeter screen; it will go up in resistance if the cap even works and holds a charge. You'll want the multimeter on the highest resistance test setting, and it will go up fast, so be watching. You will have to short the cap in between multipul tests to get an accurate reading.
