Hi, you can download a manual here:

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/K7N2-Delta2-Platinum.html#/?div=Manual

Unzip the file before you can read it.
The bios can also be resetet by removing the cmos battery:

The manual shows how to do it with the jumper settings.

I have an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ processor on my MSI K7N2 mainboard. It seems to be quite lazy. Can you suggest a better processor compatible to MSI K7N2 mainboard and it's socket?

The fastest processor this board takes is an Athlon 2700. So changing the processor will achieve nothing. Obviously you are running Windows XP. So all you can do is increase the amount of ram you have. Installing 2GB should give you a small boost. Theres no real point in putting more in as you would not see the difference.
Of course you should defrag the Hard drive to give you the best performance. The best free one would be Piriforms Defraggler. Its a very good defrag program.

Good luck.

Just the plain Ol' K7N2?

This page automatically opens to the BIOS updates available.

Hover your mouse cursor on the Download tab.

Whats the biggest and or best cpu i can put into this motherboard. i curently have an amd athlon xp 2800. i just bought some more ram and wold like to know if i can speed up the cpu.

Here is a list of supported CPUs.

http://www.ruby-electronics.com/store_item/MSI_Athlon_XP_Duron_nForce2_Motherboard_K7N2_Delta_MS-6570-020

If you're going to upgrade to the XP3000+ (the fastest supported CPU), then be sure to get the one with the 200 MHz FSB.

Also, go with the lowest supported latency DDR PC3200 you can get IN PAIRS. Remember that Windows XP 32 bit only allows a total memory allocation of 4 GB which must include your video car memory and any memory allocation for add-on cards.

So 6 512MB sticks of DDR PC3200 are better than 2 2GB sticks of DDR PC3200. As the 6 sticks will allow for dual channel transfers (above and beyond the Double Data Rate) and will keep you well within your 4GB limit (once you add the video memory and any add-on cards).

You'll also benefit from doing a fresh install of XP with nlite or similar and stripping XP of all of the components you don't use. Good LUCK!

No newwork adapters in device manager

OK take a deep breath..those desk support are not IT personeel they just grab them out of burger king and they follow a checklist. Device drivers for xp are stored winnt\system32\ folder..so using your friends computer go to the manufacturers website, identify which driver you need by inputting the device name and model. If you cannot find the driver their then try the Microsoft website under XP. If you still can't find it then you may not have a choice but to load a more common network adapter..Once you find it download it to a thumb drive then copy it over to your computer....let me know if you have any questions. Pls rate this solution with 4 diamonds.

Hello!!!

That's the Nforce2 Ultra chipset. You can find a unified driver that installs several components (including the LAN) from here:
