Question about Dell Inspiron 5150 Notebook
A Dell 5150 recently became unable to run from AC power. I tried hooking up the AC plug from another Dell and it still doesn't get any power. The 5150 plug from that machine works fine on other Dells. Anyone know what is causing this issue and if they sell the replacement part to fix it? To be specific 1) 5150 gets no power from its own plug and the battery is almost run down now. 2) Other plugs fit and show green but it gets no AC. 3) The 5150 plug charges other Dell machines fine.
I have the same problem. You have to take your battery out and then plug it in. I had my motherboard replaced and it is a little better, but I still have a bad connection between the charger and the laptop. I have to make sure they are connected just right for it to work at all.

You may have a problem in the DC charge circuitry. These parts are located on the moatherboard directly and can't be bought separately and repaired. You must send your Dell to a specialised service to have it fixed by them. Sorry, I can't see no other way for this problem to be solved.
