Question about Gibson Dishwashers

2 Answers

A lot of broken dishwashers.

I thought that I had come to the right place. Then, I started reading all of the problems. There were about 9,600 of them listed. I wonder if any of THEIR problems were solved.

I unclogged the mesh "plate" in my dishwater, like you suggested, and then also unclogged all other components in that area. There was a lot of debris and dust clogs. I am hoping that this resolves my problem. Thanks again for your quick response.

Start won't work.

Thank you for contacting

A check should be made with the volt/ohmmeter to check if voltage is available to the dishwasher wiring. A voltage check is made by setting the volt/ohmmeter on the 150 A/C scale and placing one probe of the volt/ohmmeter on one wire that supplies voltage to the dishwasher. Place the other probe on the remaining wire. The meter should read 110-125 volts. This would indicate that electrical power was available from the circuit breaker panel to the dishwasher terminal box. If there is no voltage at the dishwasher terminal box electrical wires, the problem could be a defective circuit breaker or fuse, house wiring burned or broken from circuit breaker panel to terminal box. If a defective circuit breaker or fuse is suspected, it would be recommended that a qualified electrician perform these repairs.

Need door latch diagram Kitchen Aid dishwasher (Part No. 9744033)

I thought the metal bar had to be locked into place somewhere in the black latch. This was not the case. I just put the white plastic latch in place in the slot in the door and closed the panel and the metal bar went into the correct position against the black latch.

Ok I have a problem when i turn my dishwasher on.

Check that machine is getting filled sufficiently. Check the water level sensor and switch.
Check that the inlet valve is working.
Ensure that the hose to the impeller pump is not blocked.
Ensure that the sprayer assembly is OK.

If all that is OK, and the problem is starting erratically , then it is often a faulty control board.

Dishwasher won't start. Clean light keeps flashing. I have tried cancelling a couple of times, and it goes through a 2 minute process and goes right back to the flashing clean light and not allowing it to...

Thanks for using FixYa. If the clean light flashes 7 times, pauses, then repeats...

When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

If the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit (ie. element, thermostat or wiring).
It rarely happens but it could also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed (slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door when you close it).

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Broken door handle Indesit dishwasher DG 6100

I agree read "broken door catch" solution and be particularly careful in respect of the edges of the stailess steel panels - some of the edges are hidden and they are very sharp.
