Pioneer AVIC-F900BT settings menu and Navi setting
I have installed my new unit and all AV settings are ok, but I am unable to access the system setting and the Navi settings. Also, I am unable to restart the unit to its factory settings.
Can someone help?
Re: Pioneer AVIC-F900BT settings menu and Navi setting
I sent just yesterday mail of similar problem. But after some time in internet, I found a tip, which helped me to solve the problem. The only thing to do is just ground the light green wire. If You have joined the wire to handbrake, You have to have Your handbrake on. Actually the manual says something like "some functions are not available", when the instructions to these wires are given. After this mine F900BT is working great!
Re: Pioneer AVIC-F900BT settings menu and Navi setting
If the Unit was installed by a professional then, He or She connect the parking wire to Emergency break, So the only thing that your need to do is push the emergency break and you will be able to access the settings. If you can't access the setting after pushing the emergency break, then the emergency break wire is not connected.

Try a hard reset,the Hard
Reset procedure has been known to delete your Favorites, so back them up
From the Nuvi drive, copy
'/Garmin/GPX/current.gpx' to a backup location on your computer.
After the hard reset, copy your backed up
'current.gpx' from your computer back to the '/Garmin/GPX/'
folder on the Nuvi, but be sure to rename it 'temp.gpx'.
On the next power cycle, the Favorites will be
read from 'temp.gpx' into the non-user accessible memory area on the
Nuvi where they are actually stored.
*Note that this will clear all user
selected settings on the unit
Power the unit off.
Press and hold (and continue to hold) the
bottom-right corner of the screen while powering the unit on.
Continue to hold the screen until the "Do you
want to erase all user data?" prompt appears.
Press "yes" and the unit will reboot. This resets
all your location settings and user preferences
Then make sure the unit is fully charged, then go to the Garmin site and
register your product. Then download Garmin Updater and connect your
unit with a usb cable directly to your computer and not thru a USB hub.
Let the update go directly to the GPS and not a folder. It will take a
few hours even with a fast internet connection. I have attached a link
to the Garmin site. Thanks for using FixYa
Hi The volume can be increased by two ways: You need to rotate MULTI-CONTROL to adjust the AV (Audio and Video) volume. Also you can touch the keys in the following order in Top Menu; Settings ➔Navi Settings ➔Sound Settings and then touch or drag the slider. Please see this Pioneer AVIC-F900BT User Manual for more details. Please do rate the solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance. Thanks Rylee
This took me weeks to solve because they dont give you a decent manual. It is necessary to have a good map on your sd card. You have to go into your map setup software and tell it which serial port and baud rate to use. otherwise it will display as you state.
You might have the switch on SD card set to "read only" , This would stop your tomtom being able to write to the SD card ... hence , " unable to store settings " message . .... OR ... the folder where your tomtom wants to store the settings is corrupted ( on your SD card ) so it can't store them.... or similarly , the file is corrupted on the SD card ( maybe the card is damaged ) so the existing file cannot be overwritten . Check out all these possibilities before suspecting any hardware fault on your tomtom ..... GOOD LUCK
By MS Active sync from computer delete file Mounted Volume/my flash/sony/nav-u.exe (the folder SONY is hidden, you must set show hidden files in your comuter first). And then replace old navi file by exe file of total commander CE version ( download is free on site of developer) .You must rename the totalcmd.exe to nav-u.exe. Now after reboot is allowed everything, including executing any other navi software like tomtom, igo, navigon and many other (multimedia players). The oficial navi (old navigon) by sony is not so good in compare with new navi soft. .. enjoy.
