Question about HP w1907 LCD Monitor
Hold the MENU button for ten seconds to unlock or lock the OSD.

My monitor HPw1907 menu keeps popping up and sometimes scrolls randomly. Along with that the sound keeps diminishing by itself. I am wondering if there is a short in it? Anyone out there wise to what is up with that?

Hi I had the same problem but luckily I was able to fix it. If you press the menu button down for 10-15 seconds The OSD lockout scren will go away and you will have access to the regular menu. When I did this I noticed that on the menu screen, all the menuoptions would become highlighted one by one as if I press the " - " button on the monitor. This gave me the conclusion that the button was the culprit. The button was not stuck because I could press it and it would go in and pop back out. So I removed the base plate (3 screws) and then I found that on bottom 2 corners you will see a **** on the black inner plastic (use a flashlight) Stick a flat tip screwdriver there and gently pull the black frame out. Once you do that you will gain access to the panel that hold the 4 buttons. Remove the plug and separate the board with the buttons from the black plastic base by prying the plastic clips back. If your faulty button is the " - " button like mine then gently pry the metal cap thats on the top of each button until you remove it ( If done carefully you can replace it by pressing the metal plate back on) Once you remove the metal plate you can remove the actual button. Look down to locate a thin copper concave circular plate. I used a metal polishing paste to shine the copper concave plate on both sides once shined place it back in the button and put the button inside then press the button downto ensure the button goes down and pops back up. If it doesnt then gently press the middle of the copper plate with the tip of a screwdriver and try it again. If the button goes down and pops back up you can place the metal plate over the button and press down to fit down in place. Reassemble and this will fix your issue. I was so glad I got rid of that annoying OSD lockout white screen once I did this technique. Good luck and post something if it worked for you!
