Question about O2 Xda Atom
I'm not sure what's going on with my Atom. Yesterday, I turned it on, and the today screen seemed all screwed up. I reset it as I usually do, and now, the atom hangs on that initial screen that pops up with the O2 sign on it. It will not move beyond that. I've tried resetting it several times. I've also tried the hard reset, taken out the battery and put it back in and the atom is still hanging. I'd appreciate any other suggestions! Thanks...
It's a pretty tricky job to do by yourself. First, you need to reinstall ROM (operating system, bios, firmware), you can't however do that by yourself because you will be needing an active sync connection for this to work. If you can't boot to windows, you can't active sync. It is risky to try to put the Atom into flash mode and attemt a ROM update yourself. A compatible ROM version or a ROM image is somewhat difficult to find for Atom's. You should try the basic things, hard reset again, remove battery, let it unconnected all night and connect it back, then a hard reset again. If all these doesn't work I advice you to send your Atom to a specialised service to have the ROM update done properly.
