Memory card fault or camera fault?

Hiya, im wondering if you can help me. ive recently purchased a samsung s1065. the camera works fine and takes pictures great, i had a samsung s1050 before hand so i know how to use it because they are very similar. i bought myself an 8gb sandisk memory card, so that i can store all my pictures i take on my camera on the memory card, that way if my laptop breaks for any reason, i still have them all. i planned to do this with the samsung s1050 but i only had a 1gb memory stick, then the camera broke so i bought the s1065. anyway. i take pictures on it fine, when i plug it into my laptop, to upload the pictures, after i have uploaded them, the pictures disappear and are not shown on my camera for me to scroll through. on my s1050 i never had this problem. after uploading i was always able to scroll through on my camera whenever i wanted to. now i am just wondering could this be because the memory card is faulty or because the camera is? or is there a setting i need to enable or something which will kepp them on the memory card? just so you know, ive tried taking the memory card out and putting it into my laptop by itself and copy and pasting the pictures onto it, it says its pasted but when i put the card back into the camera, still no joy. if you cpuld help it would be of great appreciation, thank you for your time and assistance

When the camera writes the image files to the memory card, it also creates index/information files. Without those files the camera will not display the images.

Check the software you used to upload the images with. There's probably a checkbox or option that tells it to delete the images from the card after uploading them.

My samsung s1065 camera is saying "card locked "i have not put a code or anything in it so i dont know why its locked an i cannot take any photos or anything

Remove the SD memory card from the camera. Look for the lock switch on the memory card and slide it away from the "lock" position. Re-insert the SD card and all should be well.

SD stands for Secure Digital and was one of the first memory cards to have a physical security lock to protect your data.

My camera is a samsung s1065 and it will not read my memory card. There is no photos on the camera's memory or the SD card's memory because i uploaded them to my computer using a "all in one" USB stick...

If the images were "copied" the original images will still be on the disc. Try formatting the memory stick and see if this clears up your situation. If not, write back with specifics.

I have a samsung s1065 and I wonder if you could let me know..

One thing to consider when dragging photos to a memory card for viewing on digital camera, is which folder you are putting them in.

On my sony cyber shot, when I hook it up to remove pictures, I open the memory drive in MY COMPUTER, and are faced with two folders.
I ended up having to click into each one to find where the actual photos were, and there were multiple folders within the original folders.

I guess it is just the way the camera organizes the memory card.
Anyway, if your experience is similar to mine, and you haven't already done so, I would click down to the exact same folder in the memory card where you find pictures you take with the camera.
Drag your computer photos there, and see if they appear.

Hope that helps.

My memory card seems to of blocked, what do I do now? The camera is a samsung S1065.

the memory card has a lock on the side (a little switch), which should be in the right position. It works like the protection on a diskette. It probably came in the lock position when you took it out of the camara.

Size of sd card

Hey there harad82, many digital cameras have difficulty formatting and thus difficulty recognising larger size memory cards. This limitation is due to the date of design of the camera, and the only recent availability of the larger memory cards. Also the processor power onboard many cameras is quite limited and cannot handle too much information, such as when one of these cards begins to fill. This can result in lost data. I would suggest you try one before purchasing, perhaps a friend can help with a loner or you can check your cameras specs for limitations on card size. The smaller size cards (512mb or less) rarely cause these difficulties. If you need help with specs please respond with your camera make and model#. Good Luck!
