Cool web search is malware but there is a nice utility that will remove it for you. Go to this website and click on the remove coolwebsearch button and save the file to your desktop. Once it downloads to the desktop double click it and choose the option to remove it. It usually asks you to reboot once it finishes, make sure you do that. http://us.trendmicro.com/us/products/personal/CWShredder/

Hope this helps!

I am trying to remove mywebsearch home page. it is not on my list of programs and have searched everywherw to uninstall it and cannot find it. help please!

I'm not sure what you're trying to do here? Is mywebsearch youre default homepage in internet explorer etc, and you want to change it?

If so, then hold alt, select tools on the top, select internet properties in the menu.
There you will be able to change your homepage.

If you're having issues with the mywebsearch toolbar, try reading this.

I want to delete my web search toolbar

On the Menu bar under "VIEW" select the "Toolbars" drop down menu and deselect the toolbar.
This often brings up a dialog box asking if you want to disable the toolbar select "Yes".
You can also try to see if the toolbar is listed in the add/remove control panel and uninstall it from there.
If you are trying to remove the dreaded "MY WEB SEARCH" toolbar(its not clear from your post) do this:
First, uninstall the MyWebSearch option from Add/Remove Programs
1) Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel
2) Double click on Add/Remove Programs
3) Find "My Web Search" in the list of installed programs and click on Change/Remove to uninstall it. You may also want to uninstall any of the following items associated with FunWebProducts.
· My Web Search (Smiley Central or FWP product as applicable)
· My Way Speedbar (Smiley Central or other FWP as applicable)
· My Way Speedbar (AOL and Yahoo Messengers) (beta users only)
· My Way Speedbar (Outlook, Outlook Express, and IncrediMail)
· Search Assistant - My Way
4) Reboot your Computer and run HijackThis or another adware/spyware scanner
5) With HijackThis, scan for and fix any of the entries shown above that may be remaining.
6) Next, open My Computer, Drive C, and double-click on the Program Files folder
7) Right-click and delete the folders for:
· FunWebProducts
· MyWebSearch
8) MyWebSearch should now be completely uninstalled from your computer.
9) There will be some minor registry entries left behind by the uninstall, however these can be cleaned up by running SpyBot Search and Destroy or Ad-Aware SE or left alone.

When I log on the internet this pop-up shows up.

You may have downloaded an Internet Explorer Toolbar, and it is not working properly.

It's called MyWebSearch, you might see it just under the address bar on Internet Explorer

Double Click Programs and Features icon in the Control Panel (in Classic View) and Uninstall MyWebSearch.

Also, in Control Panel, double click on Internet Options. Then click the Programs Tab at the top of the box that opens. Then click the Manage Add-Ons button.

Look for MyWebSearch in the list in the Window that pops up and disable it by left clicking on MyWebSearch to highlight it then clicking the Disable button below the list.

Hope this helps, let me know if it fixes the error.

Looks like it is an add-on from a MyWebSearch Toolbar. Try going to control panel and the Add/Remove Programs and uninstall MyWebSearch Toolbar if it is in the list.

Also in Control Panel, Double Click the Internet Options icon, click the programs tab and then click the button Manage Add-ons. Go through the list and disable any that refer to MyWebSearch.

Also, if you have a spyware program like Spybot or Malwarebytes run it since toolbars are famous for including spyware. If you don't have one of these, there are quite a few you can search for on google that are free.

M3plugin.dll missing module at startup

Your web browser has been hijacked by "adware" called "My Web Search"... The fix is involved, but not impossible.

First, uninstall the My Web Search program using standard Add/Remove Programs. Also uninstall any of the following items associated with FunWebProducts.
  • My Web Search (Smiley Central or FWP product as applicable)
  • My Way Speedbar (Smiley Central or other FWP as applicable)
  • My Way Speedbar (AOL and Yahoo Messengers) (beta users only)
  • My Way Speedbar (Outlook, Outlook Express, and IncrediMail)
  • Search Assistant - My Way
Download a free copy of a program called HijackThis.

Reboot your Computer and run the HijackThis program.

Scan for and fix any of the entries shown below.

  • R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {00A6FAF6-072E-44cf-8957-5838F569A31D} - C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\SrchAstt\1.bin\MWSSRCAS.DLL

Next, open My Computer, Drive C, and double-click on the Program Files folder
Right-click and delete the folders for:
