Question about Pyle PYX3X 3 Way 6 Channel Home/Studio Crossover Amplifier

Open Question

Believe I blew the crossover

I have a Pyle Pro PYX-3X crossover. I had isolated a pair of sub woofers off of the unit. I was only using the low pass channel. In a process of rerouting patch cords I inexpicably ran high power to the input section of this crossover. There are two resistors/diodes (I'm not sure which) that are now burned. I'm positive I could replace them, but I need to know the color scheme or the numerical sequence of these two resistors/diodes. Can anyone out there provide me with a schematic drawing, or provide me with a web address, where I might be able to obtain a schematic for this crossover? I would much rather spend .99 at Radio Shack then to have to incur the cost of replacing my crossover. Please help me, because I am driving my wife nuts without my system! I love loud, clean, balanced music, and without this crossover I have no subs. Please help my wife by helping me. She's BEGGING you!!!

VU meters are generally illuminated by small bulbs at the back of them. It's unlikely to be a powerfull bulb perhaps 12 volts perhaps around 200ma at the most. Most electrical shops should sell something that should suffice. It could be an LED though!

Its possible that the (((amps the components on the main circuit)) is short this is why you need to turn all the way up, or the pre amp unit.
you need to be more experienced to find this problem
if you want to fix the amp let me know

KRK Rokit monitor has no sound from bottom speaker (the larger speaker for lows and mids) the unit powers up fine and i get sound through the tweeter.

What you are describing is a total component failure of something in the crossover board. You cannot really check a crossover without an oscilloscope and a frequency generator. In a lot of cheap speaker systems, there is no crossover board attached to the woofer. In your case it appears that a low pass filter is present on the woofer. http://circuitdiagram.net/loudspeaker-system-crossover-network.html

I have a pair of Behringer B1800x-pro subs that I am hoping to power with my EP4000. Would it be best to run one per channel or would it be better to run them in series with the amp bridged?

Run one per channel... DO NOT forget to use an electronic crossover feeding the amps as the speakers are rated only up to 300HZ so you need a low pass feeding these or you may burn them up. Some people are using the DriveRack crossover module for example to prevent sending highs to the subs and smoking them.

How do i wire up my amp to the pld70bt there are so many pre outs and do i need a crossover not getting the bass that i should be getting

The specific unit has a mono sub woofer output. It is the Grey coulerd RCA output. Buy a male to female Y-Splitter( it is a RCA connector that has one male RCA plug on one side and two female RCAs' on the other side. Now just connect that to the rca that is going to the amplifier. As this is the dedicated sub woofer output use it.

Hello, What is the proper way to connect an Ashly XR1000 Crossover and a Pyle Pro PTA1400 power amp to my Peavey XR8600 so I can use 2 subs? The subs are not powered, but do have a passive crossover...

Here is a link to the manual:http://www.peavey.com/assets/literature/manuals/00513220_7.pdf I didn't look at the manual for the crossover but this is probably the way I would do it. Look at page 13 in the manual : Come out of the Main out (31 in the diagram) into the main in of your crossover. Go out of your crossover Hi and Mid out setting back into Power amp In 1 (labelled 32 in the diagram). Hook your speakers that you normally use to the output jacks on the back of the Peavey. Make sure you match the output impedances. Go out of your crossover low output into the Pyle power amp and out of the Pyle into your subs. Make sure the impedance ratings of all your speakers match the output impedances of your amps. You will only be running in Mono mode as that is the signal output of the Peavey mixer. You can run faux stereo by using the Main monitor Out as 1/2 the pair and the Main Out as the other 1/2 to both channels of the crossover but you won't be getting a true stereo pan mode.

When i turn my system up past thirty my amp shuts off is it because of the ohms or what. How big of an amp am i allowed to use and how many ohms does the amp need to be? Thank You

Key things to check.
1. Make sure you have a good power and ground. Make sure you have a large enough power cable(4 gauge is a good start). The ground should always be attached to bare metal(remove paint from contact area).

2. Ensure your amps crossover is set to low pass and at about 80hz. Turn any bass boost off, and start with low gain.

3.Your enclosure should be 1.25 cu sealed, or 1.75cu ported. If you are too far off these numbers it can cause distortion and clipping.

4. For the single woofer your best amp solution would be a 300 RMS 2ch bridged to 4 OHMs. As long as you're running the sub at 4OHMs you shouldn't have a problem. Under-powering can be worse than overpowering.

5.If your head unit has high and low pass crossovers, set your low pass at 80hz as well. If the head unit doesn't have crossovers, then turn your EQ to flat.

If none of this helps, it could just be the amp.
Hopefully it helps, Plz Vote & Rate

Need apair passive crossover for pair of maxp64 600 watts

You can easily make one yourself. All you need are two non-polar capacitors of about 1 Farad each. Radio Shack and any respectable electronic component store have them. For a high pass filter (AKA crossover) connect in series with the speaker wires. For low pass operation like a sub-woofer, use it in parallel with the speaker.

Can i connect the amplifier and subwoofer to the built ford fiesta radio

If your amp has rca jack inputs only you will need in-line filters to reduce the stock stereo speaker outputs down to less than 3 watts. If your amp has high power inputs you can use those. If your amp does not have a built-in crossover then you will need to install a low-pass crossover or filter before the amp so the only the bass comes thru or the sub woofer will have major distortion. Another problem is the amplifier needs a turn-on signal for the blue wire and most factory radios do not have one. That means you will have to tie that wire into the switched 12v wire from the vehicle so the amp comes on when the key is switched on. It can be done be done but I don't think you will be very impressed with the sub due to most factory stereos have a limited bass range. Most aftermarket head units have built-in crossovers and sub outputs. They also produce much better sound than the factory unit. So in other words yes you can.

I have a xenyx 2442fx mixer and ep2500 power amp hooked up to 2 1800x subwoofers and 2 1520 pro speakers. i am using a peavey xr 684f powered mixer to power my monitors. i would like to add another power...

You would need a 2 or 3 way crossover, depending on whether or not you biamp your tops. Simply go out of your main outs on the mixer into the input of the crossover. Go from the low output of your crossover to your low power amp input (subs), and the high output of the crossover to the high power amp input (tops). Then go from your outputs of your amps into the speakers themselves.
