Question about Philips DVP642 DVD Player
The power button just blinks when plugged in, and i can't get the DVD out or to do anything like play. I got it in 2005 and has worked perfect until suddenly stuck.
Instead of a pinhole, there is a slot on the bottom of the DVD player that will force the disc out. There's a plastic lever visible on one side of the slot. I used a butter knife to push into the slot.

Look for a pin-sized hole on the front panel.
If you find one, use an unfolded paperclip to push into it.
Many optical drives provide this for just your situation.
They use a friction clutch (for safety) that eventually doesn't function right anymore.
The blinking light may be telling your that the power supply hasn't come up as it should which could also affect the eject operation.
