Question about Mitsubishi WS-65857 65" Rear Projection Television
I bought this set used. At first it worked fine, but recently is has started having distortion problems on all resolutions. The picture is curved in at the top and bottom of the sides. Sometimes it will be ok for a few minutes, then go distorted again. When it is working the picture is great and I can't afford to replace this thing right now. Any help is appreciated. I can use a volt-ohm meter and can solder / desolder well. Thanks.
The picture tube is starting to go out but there are a couple of tricks you can use that may lengthen the life of the tube.First be sure that you have no other devices sitting on or around the TV. DVD s etc sitting on or around TVs are just not good for them Second Get a fairly strong magnet and work it along the poor reception areas and sometimes you can "stetch" the picture back in place. We carry these magnets with us and you would be surprised at how well this works it takes a little finesse but It works! Good Luck
