Re: creating a secure internet connection
You need to log into the wireless router either by a computer that successfully connects wirelessly or by physically connecting with an ethernet cable. Once connected, log into the router by open a web browser (Internet Explorer, MozillaFirefox, Google Chrome, Apple Safari), and typing the router's address (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) into the Address (or URL) line. The default usernameand password is usually "admin" & "admin" or "admin" & "password". Once successfully logged in, look for a tab or link that says "Wireless" or "Security". You'll be able to change whether security is enabled or disabled, and the password associated with it. Your security options are WEP or WPA (or WPA-PSK). WPA-PSK is the most secure, but WEP is also an acceptable choice. Select the security option of your choice and either enter text into the passphrase generator or choose your own password and type it into one of the security key text fields. If you use a password that is not a plain english combination of letters and numbers, be sure to write it down so that you can enter it as needed on other wireless devices that need to access your router (ie-pda phones, game consoles, laptops, desktops, etc). Be sure to save changes so that the security settings and password is saved. Let me know how you make out.

When you did the initial setup for your router, you should have configured the wireless adapter in the router:
* set a SSID -- the "name" of the network
* set an encryption-level -- hint: use 'WPA' or 'WPA2'
* set a password for your network
It's that SSID/password that you need to enter on the DSI, to make a wireless connection to your router.

Please follow the steps mentioned below on the Computer where the internet connection is working normally and check if the issue is resolved.
Please type "http://192.168.0.1" into the address bar, then hit "Enter" or "Return."
Please Use "Admin" as the user name and leave the password blank when the login screen appears.
Please click on Wireless, enter the Wireless SSID name (name for the Network) and under Security, select the Security type and type the Security Key.
Save the settings and try to connect to Wireless on the Computer having the issue.
It will ask for the Security Key, enter the Security Key provided during the Wireless setup.
This should resolve the issue. If the issue is not resolved, reset the Router to factory settings and then try connecting. Please try to locate the Reset button near the Ethernet ports and press for 10 seconds.
Good Luck!!!! Please let me know if you require further assistance. Thank you for contacting.

You have to go to the router configuration. To reach it, you go with Internet Explorer (or Firefox, or else). In the documentation of your router, you will find an IP address by default for your router (or go to the RCA website and find the doc, by the model number). That IP address is the way to enter to the config. Enter the address in the address bar, for example http://192.168.0.0 in the web-browser. In the documentation, you will also find a login name and password for your router (that you will change afterwards). So, once in the configuration, you will find a section for the security, to select the security mode and choose a password.

To connect your modem to a wirless router. Then make sure when you set up the wireless router that you remember the settings (mainly the password) and what kind of security you set, WAP, WEP AES or TKTP. Also make sure the wirless connector is enabled on your PSP (basically a switch on top of your hand held system).
