I use yahoo for my ATT DSL mail and I'm not having any issues so I suspect something changed recently on your computer. Have you downloaded any Windows service packs (like XP SP3) or any security patches for Internet Explorer? If you think you have then I would run System Restore (start>all programs (or programs if on classic view)>accessories>system tools>system restore then choose the restore my computer to an earlier state. When asked which restore point to use choose one the day before you started having problems. If that doesn't fix it you have to look at if anything else has changed on your computer or internet setup. Like did you get a new router or DSL modem or install a software firewall? If so those could be blocking yahoo. If you are trying to do this thru a corporate network your administrator could have blocked you too, I know at my job I haven't had access to yahoo for years! If you aren't on a corporate network and nothing else has changed, your router could have flaked out, power off the router and/or modem for a least a minute then plug them back in and try again.
Hope that helps!

Can not get in to my e-mail in yahoo

One of the drawbacks of free email services is that they're easy to forget you have an account. Yahoo! Mail is just one of those free email services.
Say a few months go by, you've turned your attentions elsewhere, but you remembered you have a Yahoo! account and you want to check your email.
But after you log in, it informs you that your Yahoo! Mail is no longer active. What do you do?

Log in to your Yahoo! Mail account as usual.
A message will appear that says your account has been deactivated due to inactivity.
Reactivate your Yahoo! Mail by clicking on the "Reactivate Your Yahoo! Mail address" link that is located at the bottom of the page.
Sign into your account at least once a month to avoid automatic deactivation by Yahoo! in the future.

How do I get my E-mail

If you installed Google Chrome, that is a web browser. Both Google and Yahoo are web based services that load on the browser. Just type in Yahoo on any browser and use like any web page.

They both also have tool bars. Same principal. gl

I can't get into my yahoo email for the past 2 days on my laptop

Can you let us know exactly why you cannot get into your e-mail? What happens exactly to prevent you?

Does it appear to be accepting your password? I'm assuming if you sucessfully reset it, this isn't the issue.

I would suggest trying another browser and seeing if that works first of all, you can fire Firefox, Chrome or Internet Explorer

I just want to delete my yahoo account a.s.a.p and make a new one i just been having a lot of problems with spam and unfortunat e-mails i need ur help to delete pleasee and thank u

Hi,

log into your account and go to this link:
https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user

It will take up to 90 days for your account to be permanently deleted.
this is what yahoo says:
In most cases your account will be deactivated and then deleted from our user registration database in approximately 90 days. This delay is necessary to discourage users from engaging in fraudulent activity. Additionally, due to the limited number of names available, we may allow other users to sign up for and use your current Yahoo! ID and profile names after your account has been deleted

Follow all the prompts when you close out your account. Please be sure to read all warnings very carefully during the account deletion process.

By terminating your account, you will lose access to your entire Yahoo! ID. Everything stored in your account will be lost during the termination process. All this includes the following:

-Yahoo! Mail
-Yahoo! Address Book
-Yahoo! HotJobs
-GeoCities
-Yahoo! Briefcase
-My Yahoo!
-Yahoo! Groups
-Finance Portfolio
-Any other area that is accessible your username and password

Once you deleted your account, you can never open it back up again due to security reasons.

Help needed to send questions to members on Craigslist

HI,
You should be able to go and open up Yahoo and then go in and send a message from there. Yahoo is a web based email so there is no need to set up a POP or STMS. If you can get into Yahoo just type in the email address of the craigs list person and send it that way. If you go into Craigs List and highlight their email address and then go into yahoo and paste it there you should be able to send it. The windows mail is popping up because that is set as your default mail client. Just ignore it for now and if it pops up just close it. If there is any other questions don't hesitate to ask, Best wishes.

Question

I just helped another person with what is sounding like a common issue, the only difference is they were reporting that the page would come up with page cannot be displayed and their home page had changed to a websearch page. It seemed to me that they had malware that was hijacking their preferences so I directed them to download the coolwebsearch removal tool from trend micro. I'll give you that link too, it's totally worth a shot because it's small and runs quick and it's better to get that possible problem out of the way. Download and run the program below, choose to fix right away as opposed to scan and if it tells you to reboot do it right away.
http://us.trendmicro.com/us/products/personal/CWShredder/

If it doesn't detect anything we're going to have to take the troubleshooting up a notch.
So if that doesn't fix it we need to see if another malware program is redirecting you so you cannot get to yahoo. Go to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc and open the hosts file. A standard generic hosts file usually only contains this:
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost

There may be a few lines below the localhost entry but if you see any references to www.yahoo.com then we know you have some really bad malware and need to run a good spyware removal tool. For that I recommend Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware. I don't really trust anything else really.

If that doesn't work the last thing I can suggest is trying to reach the website by IP address. Go to start>run>type cmd then hit enter. In the command window type ping www.yahoo.com and it should return the IP address. Type that into the address bar in your web browser and hit enter. If it gets to yahoo then you have a DNS issue. Let me know if that is what happens and I'll send you the instructions to change the DNS address on your network card.
