Question about Pioneer SX-315

1 Answer

Controlling pioneer VSX-456 receiver.

Is there a setting to get all 5 channels to play music on this unit. I can only get 4 to play (no center) on studio setting with rear speakers connected to B terminals. When rear speakers are connect to rear terminals I get surround sound (all 5 channels) during movies but can't play music through the rears. The receiver is in good working condition. Is it the age of the unit and capabilities available? Do I need to buy a newer one to be able to do this?

Pioneer VSX-456 headphone jack problem

No the headphone jack doesn't disable the speakers. There are two switches in the lower middle of the receiver that are labeled speaker A and B. Pushing one of these should disconnect the speakers from the receiver.

Series the speakers, they may not get as much power as you would like, but your receiver will last longer.

Pioneer receiver vsx-d510 sub not working

Rear Surrounds are not supported on this unit, they would be the 6th and 7th channels in a 7.1 rig. I think you mean Surrounds (channels 4 and 5 in a 5.1 rig).

Lets ponder: How is there any relationship between Surrounds and your separately-amplified Subwoofer? I don't see it, unless you inadvertently chose OFF for the Sub definition when you were in the Speaker selection menus adding the Surrounds. Look again.

Center Channel not working on pioneer vsx-d608

Be sure the sound source has a center channel output ie. not a 2 channel source only, try the test tone setup for 5 or 6 channel balance, if no sound from the center channel still then it is looking like maybe the center channel is blown.

I have pioneer receiver Vsx-454 i want to know if this receiver is 5.1 surrounds

Yes. It is 5.1 surround. There are 2 front channels, 1 center channel, and 2 rear channels which comprise the "5" in 5.1 surround. The pre-amp output channel for a sub is the ".5".
