SOURCE: NEC washing machine model NW-891 can't get past

It is the problem of the board, which can be fixed, by a specialized mechanic. Contact a nearby mechanic with sufficient tools. Sometimes you will have to replace your board which will be expensive. In that case, if your unit is an old one, try to get an exchange.

SOURCE: washing machine won't drain and spin after rinse

It sounds like you have a blocked pump. I have read that the pump is connected directly to the motor. You will need some tools at hand before you try to disconnect the pump from the motor.
Make sure that you disconnect the machine from the power supply. Tilt the machine back to access the pump from the bottom of the machine. It will be connected to the motor with clips. Have some towels ready to mop up the water.
I hope this works for you.

SOURCE: My nec nw 752 is not working. It lost all power

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven from the flow into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

I have a nec nw-691, when you put it on spin cycle it brings error message --lid open??? plz help

Yuo might try making sure it is still level but I'd just try using a lower spin speed. How have to use "gentle spin" when I wash towels or my washing machine has errors and stops. If still too damp just use a gentle spin only cycle once more to finish the job.

We have a NEC NW-752 top loader. It is currently not draining water. In fact just gets to the draining time in the cycle and just makes a slight buzzing noise as if it is trying to drain, but does not do...

Hi Wesley, it sounds as though the pump isn't working.
You may have cleared the filter and made sure the hose is clear, but the buzzing is a classic indication that either the pump motor is seized or something like a coin or an elastic band, which is hard to see, is preventing it from spinning.
The buzzing would also indicate that electricity is getting to the pump..
I would be surprised if the problem is not in the pump motor, either seized or jammed.

Unplug the power and take the inspection plate off the back.
Undo the screws holding the pump and check that there isn't more screws UNDER the machine. Use your camera to record your progress and a felt marker to make sure the housing goes back on the same as it was..
This is not a difficult job if you go slow and steady.
You may need to replace the pump motor. Usually a generic motor is OK. Check that the diameter is the same and that the sealing ring is in place. It will be a firm fit. I think NEC uses spade connections on their pumps. So be aware what type of contacts the motor has. The power wires can go on either way around. (Active or Neutral) If it has an Earth wire, it MUST go back where it was ..
Good luck
Cheers

I have just run a wash cycle and when it had finished the clothes were still very wet and water was laying in the bottom of the drum. I have tried to do a repeat wash but the machine will not work but...

You have most likely selected by mistake the no spin option coupled with extra rinse  - press again the rinse button to unselect that and put the spin speed at max.

Sony NW-A1000 will not play,

If you get the spinning disc error on your sony nw a1000 it means the hardrive is knackerd.
The hardrive in the sony NW A1000 is a segate ST1.2 6gb and these can be bought off ebay for around £8. If you can't find a 6gb one you can fit an 8gb hardrive BUT your NW A1000 will only use 6gb of it.

If you search on the internet you can find instructions on how to remove the back cover of your NW A1000 which is very easy to do! You then unplug the hardrive (be very careful!) and replace it with the new seagate hardrive. Turn the NW A1000 on and go to the home menu, select "settings", then select "intialize disc" and it will format your new hardrive so that it can work with NW A1000.

Maytag neptune won;t rinse

Check latch mechanism for alignment. Often operation of machine loosens latch mechanism causing internal switch for "door open (or ajar)" preventing rinse or spin cycle. Opening and closing door presses latch mechanism closing internal switch allowing for continue processing to rinse or spin cycles.
