Bad Ghosting Panasonic

I have a 2 year old Panasonic PT 53TW 52inch HD Ready TV. It is has Direct Tv hooked up. Yesterday it started looking very weird 4 different visions. We tried our DVD Player and rewired the Tivo box. I bought the extended warranty and I am ready to tell them it is a crappy TV. I would love for this to be unrepairable. I Have had 2 tube 36" tube tvs that have better pictures. This thing cost me $2000 with the Warrarty. Any Suggestions?? The picture has been really bad and makes everyone look like big people. I have not liked it at all. a

Re: Bad Ghosting Panasonic

It sounds like you may have a couple of defective convergence IC's, and maybe a couple of resistors. A fairly easy repair. Since you already have a warranty on the set, I would have it repaired and let the company know you haven't been too pleased with the picture quality all along. They may be able to tune it up a bit after repairing it to really make it shine for you. Panasonic usually makes pretty good sets, you could do a lot worse with some of the other brands out there.

Most likely the Li-Fi lamp is bad. If it is and your TV is less than 5 years old the lamp is covered under warranty by Panasonic but must be replaced by a Panasonic dealer. If its less than 2 years the labor is also covered. If its less than 5 years old and it appears the lamp isn't firing I would contact Panasonic to have a technician look it.

I have a Panasonic HDTV 1080i 52inch TV that is 6 years old. When I turn it on, the green power light just blinks and there is no picture at all. Any advice?

Check the lamp. Detach the front cover, read the warning, unscrew the cover, look inside, undo the one and only screw you can find, and pull out the lamp module. (Without touching the lamp) have a look at the light. Can you see it smokey in colour, or is the filament broken? This is how the PT-50LC13-K that I found in the garbage behaved, and the lamp filament is toast. Just thought I'd share.

Problem with HD feed from satellite receiver

I just had my HD DTV installed this weekend, you have to leave it on 480p. I too purchased my tv in 2002. Per DTV, its an older model and you have to stay with the 480p to get the best possible picture. I have to admit, don't know what the 1080i looks like, but 480p is showing me a very good picture. Best I have ever seen on my TV.

Needs service. No troubleshooting can be done for this issue. You may want to unplug it for 10 minutes then plug it back in. Just to Power cycle it. If that does not fix it then it is more serious and needs to be looked at.

DLP Powering Off after 5 minutes

Chances are the cooling fan for the lamp is bad, or the temp sensor for the lamp might be defective.
