Dell vostro 3500 shows battery connected but not charging and intermittently shoes no battery detected

Instructions

1
Determine if the laptop battery is defective. While less than 1 percent of batteries are defective, the possibility is still there. If the battery is new and only charges some of the way, it may just require a BIOS update to charge fully. New batteries that refuse to charge at all may be defective. Purchase a new laptop battery to replace the defective one.

2
Test the laptop power adapter to see if it's faulty. Run the laptop directly from the laptop power adapter and without the battery. If the laptop does not work with the adapter plugged in, the adapter is dead and you will need to replace it. The laptop battery may refuse to charge if the adapter is faulty. Charge the battery with the laptop turned off.

3
Insert the laptop battery into another laptop to test it. If the laptop battery charges in another laptop, the laptop's motherboard may be bad. Replacing a motherboard in a computer can be very expensive. If the cost to fix the computer is not worth the cost of replacing the motherboard, consider purchasing a new laptop.

4
Reinstall the battery to ensure all connectors latch properly. The latch mechanism that holds the laptop battery should click into place. If the latch does not close, remove the battery and examine the compartment for signs of damage.

5
Troubleshoot the BIOS to determine if there is a hardware problem. Turn on the laptop and immediately enter BIOS setup by holding down the "Del" and "F1" or "F2" keys, depending on the make and model of the laptop. When the BIOS screen appears, see how long it takes for the battery to charge down. If the battery does not last as long as the BIOS setup, a hardware failure may be the problem.

How do i fix my asus eeepc that won't charge

First of all you have to narrow down your problem but finding out where is the problem exactly is it your battery or your charger so what you have to do find a charger from friend or so if similar is well and good
but always check the polarity it shold be exactly the same .and volts also then try to charge it its gives you a charged battery so you are sure its the problem with the charger and in the other case if still dosent charge its your batery so need replacement of either of 2.
other things you can check is when you plug in the charger to the laptop dose the notification comes on the light of plug and shows a batery with the plug icon on your taskbar. if yes just you need to check if its giving you the correct volts.
and if your laptop is working when connected to power only that means you have problem with battery .try removing it out for some time so its complitly drained and then clean the connection pins andreinsert it well and check.
thanks if its helpfull please cast some votes.

How can i repair the power cord plug slot on my toshiba laptop it wont charge it?

First check voltage, using a meter, at the plug coming from the adapter. If all is well, then you have to tear the laptop apart piece by piece to get to the wiring of the plug. If you finally get there, look for broken wires, burn marks, etc.. If the cord is good, plug it in while torn apart and check voltages where the wire solders into the motherboard. If something is amiss, there's a bad wire that needs replaced. If you're still having problems, and feel adventurous, retouch the solder connections on the mainboard where the wires from the power plug connect to. If it still isn't charging, it might be a bad battery or motherboard. Either way, it's not that easy to fix (except for getting a replacement battery)

Turn off actomatically, cannot turn on so far.

Your battery may be too low to allow charging it and "starting" your computer at rhe same time.

Remove the battery and clean the contacts on the battery and the laptop.
1. Plug in the laptop power adapter with no battery in the laptop.
2. Turn ON computer. It should stay turned on.
3. After Windows settles, insert battery.
4. The computer will stay powered on.
5. Allow to charge.

Pasario 6500 laptop will not charge, charger is plugged in, turned on and laptop is running on mains power but it will not charge the battery

Most likely your battery stopped recharging. Depending on what type it is, and how old it is, it could be dead by now and needs replacing.
Most laptops can operate connected to their power supplies, even when the battery is taken out.
Some batteries need to be fully discharged for them to take a new charge and perform as new, up to a 1,000 times, according to their manufacturer's specs. Others have what's called a "memory effect". This prevents them from taking a full charge, especially when connected to the laptop almost 100% of the time, and using up some of their charge only ocassionally, when they are disconnected from their power supplies.
You can get replacement ones on eBay for less than the manufacturer's advertised price.
Good luck!

What is the problem with a laptop that does not turn on is it the battery that needs to be change or is it something else

It could be a bad battery, or a bad power plug which would not pass power to the battery. If possible, replace the battery with one that you know is fully charged. If that works then you will have to have either have the adapter checked or the plug itself may be loose and needs to be re-soldered. If it did not work then something else is loose and you should have it taken in for a complete exam.

When i plug in my charger to my laptop it doesnt work and i dont know whats wrong with it

This issue can be caused by any of the below possibilities. 1.- Computer AC / DC cable is bad not allowing the computer battery to charge.
2.- Battery is bad.
3.- Battery charger board is bad.

Solutions:
1.- Computer AC / DC cable is bad not allowing the computer battery to charge
Verify that the AC and or DC cable is not bad by testing the computer only with the power plug connected and the battery out of the laptop.
2.- Battery is bad
It is possible that if the power plug is good that the computer battery is bad. Leave the computer connected to the power with the battery connected in the computer for at least one hour; if the battery does not charge, consider having the battery and/or the laptop serviced or repaired.
If the computer and/or battery is not in warranty consider just replacing the battery as it is very likely that it is just a bad battery.
3.- Battery charger board is bad
If the battery has been replaced or an alternate battery from an alternate identical laptop does not work in the computer, it is likely that the power or charger board within the laptop is bad. It is recommended that the laptop be serviced or repaired.

This will fix your problem.

Toshiba satellite pro a200 The laptop has stop recharging, i don't know if its the battery or the adapter or the actual laptop with the problem? please help!!!

First do not remove battery and use charger only. Lets start at the beginning first if you are using a UK three point plug check the fuse in the plug. Next some adaptors have a small green light on when connected to the mains. Another way to check the adaptor is, if you no someone with a multi meter (used to check voltages etc) get them to check if there is a reading from the end you plug into the computer should read 19volt. That would check your charging adaptor. Battery well if adaptor is charging then it is almost likely to be your battery.
If you have to replace the battery take it with you when you go for the replacement and ask them to check it in another laptop if they wont do this go elsewhere.
By what you say you have a fault with the adaptor.
Good luck

sounds like the battery may be bad. I would first suggest trying a replacement battery and see if it will charge if so problem solved; if however a replacement battery (that is known to be good) still does not work it is possible that your battery charger on your laptop has gone bad, which is possible but very rare.
