GapKids Digital Watch - Need to know how to set

Just bought a girls and boys digital watch from gapkids. No instructions... didn't think much about that. Not able to set time and date. Has a total of 4 buttons, two on each side. Left side says light, mode right side says start and reset. There is an alarm (not worried about setting that) date, day, time. Maybe more but this is all I need. Can you help?
Thank you!

I have same problem. I'll let you know if I get an answer

  • Anonymous Dec 19, 2008

I found instructions for setting the time and date, etc. look at front of watch right side up. going counter clockwise from left top to right bottom--consider the four buttons.
    light button=A; Mode button=B; Start button=C; Reset button=D

    Now follow these instructions:
    1) To set the time, press button B three times. 2) Whatever is flashing is the area that can now be changed. 3) Use Button C to change. Push once for changing in increments of 1 unit. Hold for 3 secs for speedy advance. 4) After completing one change hit D until the area you want to change next is flashing--refer to instruction #3 to complete all the changes are made. 5) Press Button B to resume standard time display.

Light button is A
Mode button is B
Start button is C
Reset button is D

Standard Time Adjustment:
1) To set time, date, etc. press button B three times (assuming you start in standard time display mode)
2) Press button D until the area you'd like to change is flashing. (i.e.: minutes, date, day, etc.)
3) Press button C to change. Press once for one unit increment of change. Hold for 3 seconds for speedy advance.
4) Press D again until the next area you'd like to change is flashing.
5) At completion of changes press Button B to resume standard time display mode.

When the alarm is on there is little bell symbol above the ":" between the hour and minute. To turn off (or on) the alarm hold down the "reset" button and then press the "start" button.

I just figured one out this morning...slightly. I kept thinking I was on the military time - so, I just kept going thru the mode options - however, I just so happened to scroll thru the hours on one of those military modes - and it actually offers you the AM, PM, and then the Military Time choices. Just keep hitting the start button till you get to the one you want. Then it lets you set the time and dates. Then hit the Mode button again to save it. Also, to turn the ALARM off - hold down the reset button, and hit the start button - it will 'beep' when it goes off, and the symbol will disappear. The rest of the things it lets you do...I haven't figured out yet!!! What were they thinking selling these things without instructions!!!

The instructions are on the back of the tag that came on the watch. Most people probably throw it away without bothering to look on the backside of the tag. . . Companies don't generally sell a product without instructions; but people are generally unobservant.

I e-mailed Gap customer service and they advised to take it to the store for assistance. I'm not real optimistic that they will know how to do it, but may be worth a try.

When I put the new battery in, I think it reset the time to midnight and the date to 1-1. So I think I'll try to remove the battery and put it back in some night when I'm up at midnight. I guess if I wait til New Year's Eve @ midnight the date would be correct too! Until the next leap year...... and what about setting the alarm?..... Oh well, I'll report back if I come across the instructions.....

I only know how to set the time and to shut the alarm.
To shut the alarm hold all the buttons at the same time. It should
make 2 beeps all there be a beep until you turn it on.
Same way to turn it on hold all the buttons at the same time until 2 beeps.

Lost instructions to set my solo digital watch

I think I have the same watch and was just looking here to see if I could find how to stop the alarm going off every hour! However, I think I do know how to change the time: press the mode button three times (the first one brings up something like the stopwatch, the second brings up what may be an alarm time). On the third press you should get the time appearuing with the seconds flashing on the far right of the display. You can then change the second by pressing the"start" button. To change the minutes or hours, oress the "reset" button until they start flashing and use the start button again. pressing the reset button again will bring up the date to change. keep pressing until nothing is flashing any more and poress mode and it should bring you back to the current time. hope you can follow this and it works!

GapKids Watch turning off the alarm

If you don't have the instructions, the buttons are labeled as follows:

Top Left is "Light" - Button A
Bottom Left is "Mode" - Button B
Top Right is "Start" - Button C
Bottom Right is "Reset" - Button D

With the time displayed, press the reset ("D button as listed in the instructions) and the alarm time should be displayed. While holding the "D"/reset button down, press the start or "C" button to toggle the alarm on or off.

Hope this helps

We were able to program our watch completely!!!

If you look on the back of the watch that you bought on the metal plate, it tells you the style. Ours was the Roxy 70's digital watch, and I found specific instructions at (even if this is not your style, the instructions may work):
