Every stinking one of those lower rollers will not stay on!! GE wants $8 apiece for those 25 cent items x6 that's almost $50. Will the new ones stay on??

Mine keep falling off also, every time you roll the rack in or out the wheels fall off. I wrapped thick rubberbands around all the wheel mounts. it's a clumsy solution, but cheaper than new wheels.

One of the thick plastic severing spoons apparently fell to bottom of washer, it has melted on to the heater part, how do I get this utensil off if the heater.

your best bet is simply to unplug it and break it off carefully then use steel wool to clean up the heating element of the remaining plastic. if need be and there is no danger of melting anything else you can use a pen torch to heat up and hard to remove plastic and wipe it away with a cotton clothe or scrap of denim some fabric that wont melt.

A plastic lid fell to the bottom of my disher and melted, how should we get it off?

Remove the bottom drawer from the dishwasher. Remove the lower spray arm to get it out of the way. Slide a sheet of polyethylene (plastic bag material) under the heater and over the pump to catch any trash that you don't want to go through the pump. Using a metal-cutting snips (scissors for cutting sheet metal) for rigid plastic or heavy scissors for flexible plastic, cut as much of the ruined plastic lid away from the heater element as possible. Be very careful not to nick the heater element, and brace the heater element and lid with one hand while you cut to prevent mechanical stress on the heater.

You may be able to use a diagonal wire cutter to snip most of the remaining plastic off of the heater element. A rasp may also work, but be especially careful not to go into the heater with it.

If the plastic is fairly flexible, you may be able to simply peel it off. If the plastic is burned on, you can try scrubbing it off with Scotch-Brite.

If you are really impatient and a gambler, you can try setting the dishwasher to plate warm for a few seconds to see if it will soften the plastic just enough so you can pull it off directly. There is a risk you will create a bigger mess, but it may be faster. The worst that can happen (besides a fire if you heat it too long) is you will need a new heater element.

Break as much of the plastic off as you can and just let the rest melt off or melt it with a solder gun . won't hurt anything. If you want is easy to replace just hall machine from hole and tilt back remove the wires and the nuts holding it on .

Plastic melted on Dishwasher heating element

youll have to run a whole cycle again and pay attention to when the heating element comes on again. Once its hot the plastic will be soft enough to remove it with a tight cotton rag. Use you oven mitts for protection. Hope this helps

A child's plastic cup top melted on heating element. . .how to remove residue

Gently scrape with a razor blade or paint scraper to remove the large pieces, then use some emery paper or very fine sand paper to remove the rest. Use care when applying any pressure on the element, and try not to leave any gouges in the element surface. I have also had good luck with a nail file. Hope this helps you.
