Samsung hlp5063wx fan

When I turn on my samsung hlp5063wx, an onscreen message indicates that I should: check fan 1 2 3. The message stays on for about 30 seconds and then the tv shuts down. I recently replaced the color wheel. Is this problem repairable by a consumer with some electronic knowledge? I have the same model, same problem but i never got aany notication from the set to check the cooling fan

SOURCE: samsung hlp5063wx fan

i highly doubt all 3 fans went out at the same exact time! i have the same error message occasionally but now all i do is remove the lower back cover,on the middle left there is a connection that is about 12 inches from the bottom. i just toggle the connection and voila! it works fine for another month or so.
im starting to think that connection has to do with supplying power to the fans etc.
i originally thought it was the fan but it seems impossible to me now that it could be
samsung needs to replace all the bad dlps theyve produced i mean cmon this is america where its goverment for the people, right?
i find this forum very helpful but wish there were less questions and more answers to them.
if that doesnt fix it for you try cleaning it with a vacuum brush.
if that doesnt work just start bugging the hell out of samsung until they replace it.

Yes the fan can be replaced but I believe your issue is actually the colorwheel which is going bad which can lead to color issues eventually the set will refuse to power up if the bearings fail completely inside the colorwheel

Samsung DLP hlp5063wx/xaa - Cycles through the warm up 2 times but does not turn on, then 3 lights flash on the front (2 green, 1 red) Bulb is new and looks good, fans seem to be spinning freely. Any...

If your having the "3 light" problem it could be an indication of a bad lamp however if there is a buzzing or a grinding sound it could be one of two moving parts. The color wheel or the cooling fan. I would go the cheaper route and replace the color wheel first since you say the fan is spinning. The thing is the lamp will not turn on if there is a problem with one of the other two parts. The motor on the cooling fan is too small for such a big fan so I would definately try it next. It's a big problem with the DLP tvs. good luck!

I keep getting "check Fan #1" on my Samsung HL-T5087SA DLP TV. I vacuumed it and it is still doing it. Anybody know how to fix it. TV goes off by itself after a few minutes.

you need to test the fan if it is working or not or better replace the fan with a new one.there must be shortage of voltage coming from the fan thats why the unit turn itself off.over heating of components near the fan might be the cause because your fan is malfuntioning thats why you got a keep getting the message check the fan better replace it..

Check fan # 1

There is a slight possibility that fan #1 is still good. I would still investigate it though. If the heat is not controlled, more damage could be done. I'm not sure which fan is #1. I think on the PCB of the TV would have some kinda of marking that would say FAN 1, FAN 2, etc.

Samsung hlp5063wx fan

Quite possibly; the set apparently is sensing the operation of the cooling fan and that is probably defective. These sets generate a great deal of heat in specific areas and with no fan, they would quickly fail from heat alone.
You should be able to spot the likely place for the fan if you remove the lower back panel of the set. If is probably a 'commodity' fan that is available from multiple sources; I wouldn't go to Samsung first since they will mark it up a bunch.
If you can gain access to the fan and it isn't just being impeded by an accumulation of dust, get the make and model number of the fan from the label (almost always present) and do a search on the information you find.

Television hlp5063wx/xaa model No

This is very common in Samsung DLPs. The DMD board may be going bad or it could be one of the fans that cool the engine while it is running is going bad (even though the fan looks like it is running, it is not running fast enough to cool the engine). Just before it shuts down your picture should read at the bottom of your screen which fan is bad. But I have found that does not alway happen.
