Broadcom is a maker of Network cards and PXE is a generic name for Network Boot Bios .. have you set your Laptop to boot from a network before CD ?? (go into BIOS @ power on and set CD first, hard disk second)

If not, then it can't see any other bootable device so ends up trying the network as a 'last resort' ...

Display PXE-E61: Media Failure, Check Cable PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel Boot Agent Will not boot to windows. I boot from the hard drive and still get an error

The error PXE-E61: Media test failure usually means the hard disk has failed or the hard disk needs re-seating or the disk controller is faulty. First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to check if the hard drive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port. If this computer cannot see it as an USB mass storage device and you cannot open the various folders and files on this drive, then this confirms the hard drive is faulty. Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

The system is not finding any bootable media (Hard Drive) and is attempting to boot via the network card (PXE Boot) the error message is saying that there is not PXE network to boot from and it is exiting the process.
Generally, this is caused by a hard Drive failure. Reseat the drive and or drive connections and see if the system will find the hard drive.

No; the message indicate absence of hard drive.
open the laptop and remove the hard drive and reinstall it.
if the message still appear then your hard drive is faulty.

PXE-E61:MEDIA TEST FAILURE PXE-M0F:EXITING BROADCOME PXE ROM

hello, sounds like bad hard drive. here is what you can try, go in to BIOS and reset it factory default save and exit, let the system start again go back in BIOS and check to see if you see your hard drive there, also this time disable Boot from Network option. seeif your system actually starts up... or you get "no operating system found", if you saw the HDD in BIOS and get no operating system found, you can try reinstalling windows.
if you still media test failure and it loops, you need a new hard drive.

let me know if it helps...
good luck

Hard drive has been coruppted. Hold alt f10 on statup to format and reinstall. If that dont work you may need to try install from cd's provided when you purchased laptop. If that dont work buy new hard drive and restore from cd's. Good Luck.

PXE-E61 Media test Failure

hy i have your solution.its simple. the problem is remote network data entry that start in the bios systems, produce by a virus call downloader.trojan or bootable Tj.exe, normally the bios has to read it and it gives the error " media test faliurecheck cables",ir you dont repaired quickly your laptop or desktop eventually will not boot the windows att all, this have to be kill before that happens, First of all clean your pc with Trojan Remover and then do just a simple task restart your desktop or laptop and do not let it initiate windows just press F2 at the bios and go to the Bios program and then go to the tab name Bios and press F9 that means "default bios systems" and everything will change in your bios and when your desktop or pc restart it will never show that message again and your bios will initiate with no problems and the virus that put that into your pc will no longer control your bios system.

Not always the Hard drive, boot into the bios setup utility and de-select network bootfrom the boot options. If it tries to network boot first you will always get that failure.
