You most likely need a new outer tub,the bearing seal is shot eventually it will get gradually louder in spin if it hasn't already, you can try having the seal replaced and that may stop the leak but the damage to the bearing is already done.

How do i remove the back of my 5500 neptune shell?

you dont. it is serviced from the front. open the door, there are two screws on each side in the door frame, remove them (the door will stay without the screws until pulled up and out). pull the front panel toward you from both sides, then pull up out of the brackets on bottom. you can service any part in the cabinet from there. if you are removing the drum, youll see one screw on each side holding the top down, remove and top hinges up and out of the way. shane

Maytag Neptune mag9700 leaking water from bottom

to get a better look at where its cominf from take it apart by removing the screws from around your vdispensor as well as the ones out of the door and the other side . then there is 2 5/16 screws under neath the lid once you remove the front take them out then u can see where its leaking from . odds are its it either your boot or hoses to your valves.

Water leaks from weap hole in bottom of the plastic housing

The Maytag's have always had problems with those front door boots leaking and not draining thus leaving a bad mildew smell. What the problem probably is is that the hose that connects to the weap hole is cracked and needs replacing. I would suggest just replacing the entire boot along with the hose. The boot is a pain to replace though, it might take a tech to get it done for you. Let me know if you have any other questions and let me know if this information was helpful. Good luck.

Water leak at front of washer

You should have a drain at the bottom of the rubber boot inside the washer. There is a possibility the drain hose clamp came loose or the boot has a hole in it. If you take the front of the washer cabinet off, you should be able to see where the water is coming from. Take the two screws out of either side of the door opening, pull on both sides of the front panel at the same time, tilt downward, and the panel should come off.

Maytag neptune mah5500bww leaking water

Here is the solution I found that worked for me, there is a small drain hole at the bottom of the boot that is connected to a drain hose. Remove the hose and clean out to make sure that it has not become plagged. replace hose and reattach boot. Mine stoped leaking imediately.
