Question about Samsung SC-DC164 DVD Camcorder
Hi, i have been trying to finalize a dvd so i can copy it onto another dvd but my camcorder isnt allowing me to do so. when i go into the menu on my camcorder, where it says finalize it is writen in grey, its supposed to be black, and it wont let me click on finalize or unfinalize. any suggestions???
Make sure your camcorder is oon camera mode(when you can shoot videos) then finalize shoukd be written in black.

According to Samsung you have to leave about 5 minutes of blank space at the end of the dvd in order for it to finalize. Discs you have that are full will have to be recorded to a dvd or vcr recorder using the cables that came with the camcorder.

This is most likely due to the type of dvd you are using. I believe you can only finalize the -rw. If you have the owners manual the first page or so shows which dvd you can use and what each will allow.

I think it´s because if the batterie runs low while finalising the data on the disk will be lost. To get sure that the power won´t cut off while processing you have to plug the netpower on. In that case it should not matter if the batterie is in or not.
So just plug in the powersupply.

I couldn't figure this out for a while either, but it is probably because you have your camcorder in playback mode. You can finalize from record mode.
