Hi I have Toshiba REGZA 42HL167 42-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV, It stopped working one day and customer care is saying something wrong with system board. when I turn it on yellow light flashed and then screen becomes dark grey and then after few secs the screen becomes black. where I need to take for repair If I cant repair by my own

hello the red blinking lights is a service code when this happens it means theres a power problem or a fualty circut. it happens alot with these new plasma and lcd tv's its very common since these units have built in protection and power loss a fualt or short will cuase this.
the tv needs service the tech will know what to look for according to the number of blinks.

it would be very expensive for replacing the screen,even the dealer won't afford that.

The 2 long boards call the LCD inverter boards are dead.These 2 long inverter boards help the LCD screen to have backlight to produced a picture.These 2 long LCD inverter board are dead,must be replaced to get a picture again.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy these 2 refurbishes long LCD inverter boards for the replacement.

It's a corrupted firmware, dude. As you may have "automatic firmware update" activated, your tv auto-updated itself at night and, when you tried to turn on next day, you realised the screen is blank and the menu is inaccessible. The only thing you could do now is go to a Toshiba technician and ask for a firmware update. It will solve your problem, as far as it solved mine too. If you don't have guarantee, they'll probably charge you for the update... but don't worry: it mustn't be very expensive.
