2. To check the component you have to lift the top of the dryer.

Fault code f8

Without having full information about exact model number
Problem could be defective main board or heating element or sensors
Best way is visual check and check for any faulty component and parts and check all thermostats and sensors and look for clogged vent or any damaged or rusty or cracked components and use step by step deduction method for trouble shooting
F08 Lower tumble dryer element energised when it should be off
  • Check security of module connector J4
  • Check connector for signs of shorting due to moisture
  • Test heater elements and wiring
  • Replace module (F08 would normally be caused by a faulty module).

I keep getting error code F-14 on Hotpoint condenser dryer model CTD85

Hi.

F14 means that control board does not sense that machine is heating:

F14 - A fault with the water heating has occurred

When you get F14 the fault is usually either the thermistor or the heating element (electric dryer). Both parts are tested removing the part from the dryer and reading impedance at the part contact. If the part returns infinity, then the part is defective. If you need to contact a qualified technician use the phone number listed on your owners manual or check Hotpoint website.

Regards.

Hotpoint nvlr333evoww runs but clothes will not dry

there is chance that the heating element has gone bad but the first things to check are all your thermal fuses inside the cabinet of the dryer. They should all have continuity and the one that does not have anything then it needs to be replaced

My hotpoint dryer dried a load of clothes perfectly and then the next load would not dry at all. The dryer is running just fine but there is no hot air. Nothing is blocking the vent. Did the pilot burn...

This sounds like the thermostats
This is not help is not on your model but should guide you in the right direction. All the best APART4U

Common faults -
1 The heating elements can fail (meaning open circuit)
2 There are cut-outs (T.O.C's) that might need resetting
3 The thermostats (stats) can trip out or burn out (meaning opencircuit)
4 Moderntumble dryers also have sensors and pcb's (Printed circuitboards) thesehave programs that can fail and circuitry although most should produce an errorcode showing you were the fault is.
5 Faultyconnections and burned wires may also be the fault.

Electrics tripping

Yes, it sounds like the element is broken, and it is easy to replace if you have some mechanical ability.

Hotpoint aquarius ctd40

most likely, there is a blockage in your exhaust. take it apart and check every inch from your dryer to the outdoors. i clean mine once a year, it keeps the dryer running efficiently. when lint backs up in there, the heat cannot get out and there is a sensor that will shut off the heating element when it gets to a certain temp, so your clothes will take a long time to dry

Not heating up

This looks like it is an older model. The normal place I check for parts doesn't stock the heating element. I found an alternative place but the part is $90.

The element is in the large round area that surrounds the drum assembly. Here's a diagram. The heating element is part number 512. The line doesn't reach all the way there but I think the element is the two dark rings inside the housing. Here the page with the parts listing. You'll note that the model number is the same but the brand is GE. GE makes hotpoint.
