I have read that many people have unplugged the power cord from the back of the Wii and also from the power outlet. Often after 5 hours, but sometimes as little as 10 minutes, it will work again. Seems to reset something in the power cord unit. Hope this helps.
Like the other person, I buy this wii a couple of months ago, after not using it for a while, it will not tun on. This wii equripment, was suppose to be a gift. Now I can't trun it on. paying $199.00 for the machine. This is a lot og money, under the circumstances, you are rip off the customers.

Check any accessories attached directly to the console to make sure
that it is licensed and undamaged. Unlicensed or damaged accessories
shouldn't be used with the console.
Try using a different wall outlet, or plug a different device into the outlet to make sure the outlet is providing power.
Perform an AC Adapter Reset. To perform an AC Adapter Reset follow these instructions: Unplug the Wii AC adapter at both ends (from the back of the Wii system and from the wall outlet or power strip).
The AC adapter must remain unplugged at both ends for a full two minutes.
Unplug anything connected to the USB ports and the Nintendo
GameCube Controller ports (such as LAN Adapters, keyboards, Nintendo
GameCube controllers, etc.).
Check the AC Adapter for the following:
Make sure that the word "Wii" and the model number "RVL-002 (USA)" are molded into the AC adapter. Unlicensed products are not fully compatible and may not work correctly.
Check the AC Adapter for physical damage. Physical damage,
such as frayed wiring or a cracked housing can cause the system to shut
down. If the AC Adapter shows signs of physical damage and needs to be
replaced, a replacement can be purchased from Nintendo's online store.
After waiting two minutes, plug the AC adapter into the Wii
system and directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector or power
strip. If the power light comes on and stays on, then the AC Adapter
reset was successful.
Start simple. If there's no power to your Wii, check that the AC adaptor is firmly connected both to the game console and a live electrical outlet. If you still have no power, or the power LED light goes off in midgame or flickers, try rebooting the system. Turn everything off, unplug the AC adaptor from the electrical outlet, wait at least 60 seconds and then plug in again and turn the system on.
If this does not help you may need a new power supply. Also try cleaning the wii.Use a can of ampressed air to blow out any dirt or dust from unit.Pay attention to fan area.Be sure fan spins free.
This happens if you have had a power outage. Here's what you should do:
Unplug the Wii AC adapter at both ends (from the back of the Wii system and
from the wall outlet or power strip).
The AC adapter must remain unplugged at both ends for a full 2
minutes.
Unplug anything connected to the USB ports (such as LAN Adapters, keyboards, Nintendo
GameCube controllers, etc.).
After you've waited 2 minutes, plug the AC adapter into the Wii system and
directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector or
power strip. If the power light comes on and stays on, then it appears resetting
the AC Adapter worked.
hello, One of two common possible problems. Either 1) Your AC adapter needs to be reset or 2) Your AC Adapter is bad.
Most power issues with the Wii can be fixed by resetting the AC adapter. You can easily reset the AC adapter by following these steps: Unplug the Wii AC adapter at both ends (from the back of the Wii system and from the wall outlet or power strip).
The AC adapter must remain unplugged at both ends for a full 2 minutes.
After you've waited 2 minutes, plug the AC adapter into the Wii system and directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector or power strip. If the power light comes on and stays on, then it appears resetting the AC Adapter worked.
Try to find someone with a Wii.. not that hard everyone has one. See if they will let you use the power cord. test the cord and if that doesn't you know its inside the Wii. Then, their are fuses inside the console one of them my have blown. You need a special screw driver. Hope this will help..
If that doesn't work, plug your Wii into another plug.
Smell it. If you smell something bad(you should know that smell. It ain't that pretty, eh?)
If YOUR WII smells bad or won't work CALL NINTENDO.
OR
Did you have any power issues recently in your area?If so, there might be a problem with the surge protector in your AC adapter.Unplug it from the Wii and the wall. Also, seperate both halves of it. Let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour. Plug it back in, making sure all connections are correct and strong (plugged in all the way). Then, try to turn your Wii on. If that doesn't fix your problem, try again on a different outlet. If you cannot solve this issue, contact Nintendo for more help from an NOA representitive. I copied this from nintendo.com hope this helps you.
No Power
Most power issues with the Wii can be fixed by resetting the AC
adapter. You can easily reset the AC adapter by following these steps:
Unplug the Wii AC adapter at both ends (from the back of the Wii system and from the wall outlet or power strip).

While you're waiting, unplug/remove all accessories from the
system (including game discs, SD Cards, Nintendo GameCube controllers,
memory cards, hookup cables, and Sensor Bar). Remove all of these from
the outlet and the Wii.
Also check to see that controller cords, AC adapter, and
Stereo AV cables/Component Video cables are not frayed and do not have
exposed wires. If you find any frayed cords or exposed wires, you
should replace those parts.
After you've waited 2 minutes, plug the AC adapter into the Wii system and directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector or power strip. Check to see if the power light comes on.
If the system works, plug the Sensor Bar into your system, then turn
the system on to see if it still works. Repeat this process with one
accessory at a time. If your system doesn't work once you've connected
a particular accessory (Sensor Bar, Game Disc Nintendo GameCube
controller, Memory Card, SD Card, etc.), there may be something
defective with that accessory.
Try a different outlet to make sure the outlet you have it on is good or not.
If a different outlet didn't make it turn on then at that point, try another ac adapter for the Wii. If a different adapter doesn't work then you know the main board inside of the Wii is bad.
