Timing adjustment on pfaff 2056 (not 7570)

I emailed you a couple days ago and described a timing problem I was having on my Pfaff performance 2056.  I tried the link you provided via FixYa and was unable to connect thru it.  Coincidentally my timing issue rectified itself.  I have no idea how it did this and this isn't the first time it has done this.  I would still love to get instructions on how to adjust the timing.  My email is elsje@columbiawireless.ca
Thank you sincerely for your time, Elsje

I have the same problem- the timing is off. The needle hits the bobbin casing and gets stuck. I can twist my bobbin casing around but can't seem to get the timing right. Thanks for any help! Oh and my machine is a Pfaff Expression 2036

SOURCE: 7570 connection

I have Windows Vista; I also had a similar problem; found out that I could only use the usb port on my computer exclusively for sewing as the driver software seems to conflict;
Also, having said that, go to Pfaff.com & download the free driver upgrade and see if that will get you started good luck deb

SOURCE: Pfaff 7570 connection to new XP laptop

I bought a 25 pin female RS-232 to USB cable from a computer repair store. It works great. You will have to install the software that comes with it so the computer will know that it is a serial port.

Setting time isn't as simple as it sounds. You'd have to follow a checklist first before you can do the setting. I could tell you but it is just too long to upload and don't know how I can post the img's. So my best advice is to buy the factory or generic repair manual.

SOURCE: connect PfaFF Creative 7570 to a PC

The software you need to connect the Pfaff 7570 to the PC and to create your designs is called PC-Designer version 2.2 from Pfaff. You may be able to find a used copy. The software should come with a dongle (special cable) for connecting the machine to the PC. Make sure you have this piece because it will not work with an ordinary cable. Depending on what type of port you have on the PC to connect to, you may also need an adapter since the dongle has an old style connector on the end going to the PC. If you are going to create your own designs, you will also need a storage card which inserts into the machine that you send the designs to. Pfaff makes one, called the creative card. I have also used a generic card meant for the pfaff; the generic card is less expensive and has a greater capacity. You can find many designs online either free or for sale to send from PC to Pfaff as well.

I have a 7550 and the screen lights up but the menu does not come up - I have replaced the batteries. It was working when my sister gave it to me a couple of months ago.

Okay....I don't know if this will help, but this is one thing I learned about my Pfaff 7550. Sometimes it will look like the screen is lit up but there is no menu or anything and I have found that the "display lucidity control" dial is the problem. If you look just below the buttons that are in a semi-circular shape, you can see a really tiny little dial. It can be easily missed if you don't know where to look. What I have found is that sometimes the screen lights up but there are no words/menu and if you turn the "display lucidity control" dial, the words/menu will appear. As my machine has gotten older, it seems I need to do this more often. The first time it happened to me, I freaked because I thought the display (even though it was lit up) had blanked. THAT was when I discovered that teeny little dial that solved my problem. I don't know if this is your problem, but give it a try and see if works for you like it did for me. And by the way, if you need to see a diagram of the buttons on the Pfaff 7550, here is one. The "display lucidity control" dial is marked #23 http://www.manualowl.com/m/Pfaff/creative-7550/Manual/333556

Pfaff QE4 (a couple of months old)--the bobbin winder will not function, makes a huge clacking sound.

Make sure the bobbin winder is pushed as far to the right as possible. If it is and still makes the noise the winder may not be engaging the clutch mechanism completely. The winder would have to be adjusted. Your dealer should be able to do that with no trouble.

The memory board went out on my 2000 tiptronic 6270 a couple years ago. now the machine won't sew at all. the sewing light comes on, but not the lighted digital readout area. so , no sew. how do i...

There is a fuse in the the base plate
that has probably blown. It is soldered in and needs to be fixed by a Pfaff dealer on someone with access to the fuse. If you have the work done, make sure they replace a certain reisitor on the base plate at the same time to prevent this from happening again (per Paff). Sorry for the inconvenience, hope you are back to enjoying your Pfaff machine real soon.

Timing off on Pfaff 1471

I assume that you are attempting to time the hook. The hook timing should be about 2 to 2.3 mm rise in the needle bar from bottom dead center.
