Wii fit board doesn't work properly

It says I'm fidgeting when standing still; weight was off 40 lbs.
I am using the extensions on a thick pile carpet. Any other ideas?

I have the same sounding problem, where I or anyone else steps on and it says are you fidgeting, please step off, every time we step on. For some reason it is not recognizing the person properly which makes the Wii Fit usless.

The weight fluctuates 15-20 pounds and frequently says I'm fidgeting.

The wii fit will say my weight is 15-20 pounds off and tried a friends wii fit at my house and it worked properly. The floor i have it on is carpeted and should be level i assume. Why would it be doing this and is there a way to fix it.

We just got the Wii Fit and the first time we did the body test it worked properly. The next day i got on the board and it said i was 20lbs lighter, then i tried again and it would not recognize my weight at all, it said i weighed 16lbs... Can someone help me fix this?

My wii fit balence board is not regerstering my movements on one side, how can i get this fixed?

make sure you are using the proper set up for yourself and not someone elses. For instance if my 70lb son tries to use my settings at about 260lb the board will not read the same.

Also make sure your balanced on a flat floor not some thick or shag carpet that is giving underneath it this will change your weight distribution.

If these are not issues it is possible your batteries are just to low and dont have enough juice to fully function.

Keeps telling me I am fidgeting - tried everthing

Try borrowing a friends Wii balance board and connecting it to your own Wii then try. If it works fine it's a fault with your current wii balance board and you need to buy a replacement. If it still says your fidgeting I would get other individuals to try it, if it doesen't fidget for them it is you fidgeting. If it does say they are fidgeting & you already know your wii balance board is working the same as your friends then the surface your playing on is too un-even (probably too much of a balky carpet) or uneven floorboard/tile (whatever your floor material)

Hope this helps.

What is the weight of a pile 30 feet long, 36 inch's in diameter and 1/2 inch thick, full of water

(1.5ft)^2 * Pi * 30 ft * 62.4 lbs/cu-ft = 13232.4 pounds plus the weight of the pipe which will vary depending on the material of the pipe.

You can find the weight of the pipe if you know the brand and material as most manufacturers will list the weight per foot in their catalog.
30 feet has about 11.94 cubic feet of whatever material the pipe is made of.

Wii balance board won't register

Try putting on the extension feet then you should not have that problem.
- Make sure nothing is on it or under it that could mess with the sensors.
- If the problem persists your problem is the Wii board and it might need to be re-calibrated.

Wii Balance Board thinks I'm on it all the time!

Make sure of a couple of things and try again -

If you are on semi-shag carpet, try using the little foot extenders. They may not seem like much but they can help.

If you are on moderate to thick carpet, you may need a board to set the Wii Fit Balance Board on.

If you are on a wood floor, you can (but don't have to) remove the little foot extenders.

Another little gremlin can be in those silicone covers. If you have one, I'll bet that's the culprit. As nice as they are to keep the board clean, they can actually attach to the non-moving part of the scale (the bottom) to the moving (surface) part. Be sure that your silicone cover is not interfering with the normal movement of the board.

Finally, be sure that you are always using YOUR setting while exercising or it will not be calibrated correctly. Also be sure that when you start, you are not on the board when it calibrates for the first time after turning it on. If the weight on the board differs by about 5 lbs or more than what it thinks you weigh, it will pitch a little wii fit.

I hope you find this advise helpful. If not, though, please don't label this advise as "inappropriate". A "Thanks for Trying" would be just fine.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Wii Fit Doesn't work

Do not stand on the Wii fit board until it says to. The board needs to reset itself before any tests are completed. For best accuracy, complete all the initial tests and follow the instructions to the letter.

Wii fit weighin too light!

I would suggest that you ensure that the board is calibrated properly and that you don't step on it until directed to do so. I'm sure you're already doing this, because it won't let you go on without doing so.

The other solution I would offer is to change the batteries in the unit, and ensure that you are setting the Balance Board on a smooth, sturdy, and flat surface. If you are on shag carpet, it will not function properly. If you have average carpet, try using the little adapters that attach to the feet.

Remember that for the purposes of this program, the exact weight isn't what is most important, but relative weight. Any time you are tracking weight loss, be sure to mark your progress using the same scale. If you chart the Wii vs traditional scales, you should notice that the decrease is the same, regardless of what your starting point may happen to be.

Good luck!

I'm trying to go through the setup to WII fit. My child did the body test with no problems a couple of days ago. I keep getting an error (fidgeting) when I try to take the body test. Tried to do fit test...

If your Wii Fit Balance Board is on carpet, be sure to use the extra foot pads that came with your board. If your carpet is really thick, you may need to use a flat woodend board to set the balance board on.

Finally, make sure that you are NOT using your child's Miii to do your own balance test. Each user of Wii Fit must use their own Mii character.

If you don't like my suggestion, please don't rate this suggestion a '1'. If my suggestion doesn't help, the problem may exceed the scope of what can be answered here. You will need to contact Nintendo directly through their website and open a problem ticket.

Good Luck!

Please be a bit more detailed in the problem. The Wii Fit Balance Board is very sensitive to weight shifts. Ensure that you allow the board to calibrate properly. To do this, I would suggest the following steps:

1) Place balance board on a sturdy, flat, smooth surface. If you have average-shag carpet, be sure to use the little adapters that fit over the feet. If the carpet is too thick, then it will NOT work properly. You may want to consider a small piece of plywood or something similar to set between the carpet and Balance Board.

2) Don't step onto the board until it has calibrated (this is when the board establishes its zero point). It will clearly say "Starting Up" followed by "Ok, Step On." After this, you can generally stay on the board unless a particular routine asks you to get off or for some reason it needs to recalibrate.

3) Finally, you must ALWAYS back out all the way to the Wii Fit Plaza (where you pick your Mii) if you change players. Once the board is configured for one player, it will only be suitable for that individual. Its sensitivity is based on an individuals weight. For instance, if the board is calibrated for a 3-year old's Mii, and an adult decides to play any of the routines on that Mii, the board will be over sensitive (calibrated for the lighter weight). Conversely, if an sdult's Mii is selected and a child plays a routine, the board may not detect the movement.

I hope these steps will help. If not, please offer a step by step explanation on what you are doing and I will try to reassess your situation.

Thanks!
