Hi, I recently rearranged my bedroom and moved my fridge. When I went to plug it back in again, it did not turn on. I tested the plug just in case, and it works, so I plugged it into a different outlet so I know it is the fridge. There is a red button between the temperature settting on the front, and it accidentally got pushed in while I moved it, and Im not sure what it does. The back of the fridge, the compressor, is really hot. The freezer is melting and I had to take all of my food out. I need this fridge as it is the only one I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Yo Arron, move the fridge away from the wall far enough to set a box/window fan behind it on the floor with the fan blowing air under the ridge. Turn fridge on or plug it in, if after a little while the fridge does come on, with the fan blowing across the coils underneath, then you just need replace the little fan that's under the back rear of fridge. This test setup works every time.
This looks like there is a problem with thermstat in the fridge. We had a fridge that would not cool and we found it to be the thermastat problem. You have to replace the thermstat on the fridge. Not 100% sure but a high possibility.
unplug for 15 min let sit the plug back in u should here it turn on feel the sides of the freezer if getting cold but fridge not the fan for fridge bad also there should be a copper or steel looking wire inside in back for therm for the temp move it around it mite work if not condecer low or bad
Hi, Check and see if the condenser fan motor down by the compressor is running. Sometimes when they get moved, something will get into the blade and stop fan. That will overheat the compressor and cause it to shut off on safety. If that fan is running, check the fan inside freezer and look to see if frost is building up on inside rear freezer wall. Please let me know if this helps you or if I can assist you further.
IF anything went bad it would be the water valve but is shouldnt have failed just because you didnt turn the water on.Just for grins, unplug the wires to teh water valve and plug them back in to make sure you have a good connection. Then unplug the fridge for a minute and make sure the water is on , and plug the fridge back in.Your solenoid may be stuck.THese are just things I would try..I'm mechanically inclined but am not a appliance repairman.
I had the same prob, you need to defrost it until No MORE water drips out of the drain pipes located at the back ( there should be 2 of them one for fridge one for the frezzer, make sure the rubber thing at the top of the pipe is not closed up- if it is cut it open ) when you think its defrosted place a cup under these pipes and leave it for a few more hours, if there is ANY more water in there your not defrosted yet and it wont work--- Leave the doors open of course, mine took almost three days and i live in a hot climate.
ok once you have done that, take the cover off for the main circuit board ( top of the fridge ) on the circuit board there should be a little black button with "test" on it hold that in and turn the fridge on. it should beep at you ( wait 5 sec ) then push it again ( beeps again, wait 5 sec ) push it again, you have to do it about 3-4 time before it stops beeping, when its stopped, just leave it, it should start up after a couple a mins.
the fridge will take much longer to get cold so be patient, if you find it flashing again push that test button, i just played round with mine and it came right, good luck, because the only other way round the prob is to turn it off at the wall and turn it back on.
hi thanks for the question if you turn the controls and then it starts i would replace the cold control if this part fails it will allow the fridge to get cold but not come back on just tapping the control will get it going again replace the cold control thanks the appliance doc
did you let the fridge stay in it's new place for 24 hours up right before turning it on?
Try turning it off for at least 24 hours and start it back up again.
If you moved it on its side the compressor oil flows into the lines and must beable to drain back down before using it.
If not you'll seeze the compressor.
The top part of my fridge is not working properly. It is not keeping food cold. The bottom freezer unit is working fine. I have cleaned the back and I have unplugged the fridge and plugged it in again. I have also turn the buttons off and on inside the fridge.
