D'Link DES-1016A How do i configure my 10 computers to connect internet using D-Link DES-1016A Switch.

This is an unmanaged switch so it is very simple. Plug a network cable from each PC to the switch and plug a network cable from any port on the switch to an available port on the router. That is pretty much it.

just hook it up, you have no router involved so it will have no internet connection.
Just connect all the PC's to the switch using straight through patch leads and assign the IP address manually as DHCP will not run on the switch.
you don't need a default gateway address as there will be no routing. Just set the IP addresses to;
192.168.0.1
192.168.0.2
192.168.0.3
and so on for each host on the LAN.
Use the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 this will give you the address range 192.168.0.1-254

D-Link DES-1008D 8-Port Ethernet switch is unmanaged switch which can only support 10/100 MBPS.The DES-1008D is a passive switch which means there is no way to configure the ip address and no need to.

You have to connect all the computers you have to the switch and connect your DSL or cable modem also to the switch and enable DHCP in it. Configure all your computers to obtain IP address automatically. This should work and you should be able to share the internet across the network

I assume you have a broadband connection which you are directly to your computer.

In that case please connect the broadband ethernet cable to one of your switch port.
Get a new CAT5 or CAT6 ethernet straight cable and connect one end to any free port of the DES-1008D 8-Port Ethernet Switch and other end to your Computer.

No configuration needed to be done on DES-1008D 8-Port Ethernet Switch

u no need to worry about the subnet mask 255.255.0.0
just do the following connections

1. connect a utp cable from modem/router to dlink switch.
   
2. connect a utp cable from switch to ur pc

Assign ur pc manually with following configuration

ip: 192.168.100.5
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.100.1

and your router with ip: 192.168.100.1 And enable pppoe in ur router.

Thats it you are connected to internet. No need to enable ics etc.

connect the router configure the settings give by the internet provider and configure the NAT then u can attach a switch if required and can access....

I suggest you reconfigure you network. Maybe your configuration authorizes only one IP adress on the network.

Try to reset your router to defaults to see if that solve your problem. After that you will have to reconfigure the router.

hi..hmm try to remake new connection and it must all be the same like if your connection is MSHOME the other computer should be MSHOME. if is dosnt work configure your router wan and Lan.

not instal dlink driver, problem for interner connection
