thanks.

Drivers, Software, lost C.D....come this way!

If you have lost you cd or don't know how to install your printer then all you need to do is download the drivers and software from the manufactures website that suits your operating system and printer.

Drivers and software download areas for brands listed below, just click to gain access and then locate driver for your needs.

Brother Epson Sharp Canon Lexmark OKI Dell HP Kyocera Samsung Konica/Minolta Xerox Panasonic

PLEASE NOTE

When installing drivers/software it is generally a good practice to -

·                                 Delete old/previous installs
·                                 Leave printers USB cable disconnected from computer until newly installed software requests it to be connected.

The same scan error too.

Hello,

You have to make sure that the scanner/printer driver is installed on the Vista system. Otherwise, it will not be detected. You can obtain the driver from Canon's download page and choose the one for Windows Vista.

Lost installation CD for my CanoScanUSB flatbed scanner N650U, N656U, N1220U

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=235&modelid=6858#DownloadDetailAct

Follow this link, choose your operating system and download the file. I recommend Save instead of Run so you can have it for future use without having to find the link again. You can search for the 656 and 1220 from the same link.
Thanks and help me out by rating my solution if you liked it.

I bought a new computer window vista and i have a flat bed scanner from canon a n650u/n656u and it worked fine with my windows xp but i need an up date driver for it to work with vista can you help me

According to Canon, the CanoScan N650u/N656U is not compatible with Windows Vista.  They have not released a compatible driver.  You could attempt to use a different driver, but that causes the system to become unstable and crash often, if it works at all.  I recommend upgrading to a Vista-compatible scanner.

Canon Pixma MX700 Scanner Problem

I was having the same problem, and thanks to the person who posted solution number two which simply highlighted the fact that the apparently software that came with the Canon Pixma MX700 unit is not compatible with Window Vista.

The reason I was confused is because the printer was working perfectly fine across the network, but when I went to scan my computer would tell me that it can't communicate with the scanner. I'm thinking ... "well since you can communicate with the printer, you should be able to communicate with the scanner, after all, they're the same device!"

As a workaround, I used a third party program to do the scan (in this case, Photoshop) and everything worked fine. If you have Photoshop, just go to file > import to start the scan. If you don't have Photoshop, I would think whatever program you are using for image editing may have the same functionality.

Hope that helps,
Brian

I have a new iMac Mac OS 10.5.2 and an older canon scanner CanoScan N1220U, N650U and N656U USB Flatbed. Will I be able to connect to my iMac and how? Thanks George Van Hollebeke

I just downloaded "VueScan" for my 10.5.4 Intel Mac and the demo is working great with my Canoscan N1220U.

Canon ScanGear Ir - how to set defaults?

ScanGear won't run under Vista. The scanner works with other programs. (Twain works) ScanGear fails and Vista closes it.
