Question about Logitech QuickCam Orbit AF Webcam

Cam freezes up

The cam freezes up after a few minutes of operation while i am on windows messenger. Is this a result of the desktop's video card or is it something to do with the server. The cam is brand new and was used last night for the first time. Works good but freezes on msn messenger.

My webcam image is upside down on massenger....How can i fix it ?

Windows Live Messenger Camera Image Upside Down(Iinversed Image) is the issue. You have probably tried to debug the problem with no result. Every information you found on the internet or what you were told to do yielded no benefit. You restart your computer depressing F8 to see if in safe mode things can be alright yet there is no difference from the normal system mode. This prolem has something to do with your system camera driver you installed or perhaps there is no cam driver installed in your system. Sometime it can be caused by the inverse system tool incorporated into the windows live messenger video section. Nevertheless, the best way to get your video image upright is as follows:

STEP I

Uninstall any cam driver you installed in the system before(for those of you who have tried everything possible yet with no result). Also uninstall the windows live messenger from your system

STEP II

Goto google search engine and type ccleaner and download it to clean the system and fix the registry editor.

STEP III
Get your cam drive ready for installation. For those of you who doesn't have a cam drive you can go to google search engine to download possible one that is compactible with your system.

STEP IV

Run the installation wizard of the cam driver and install it.

STEP V

Download windows live messenger from the internet .

STEP VI

Check your webcam or rather the video section of your windows live messenger if is upright now.

NB: If the video image is still upside down you will have to check you cam driver installed in the sytem from the control panel and untick inverse.

Macally Ice Cam

Normal 0 There are a number of things that can cause the camera to freeze up the computer.
First I’d check to see how much memory is installed in the computer. It takes additional memory to operate the camera.
Hope this helps. Bud

Image freezes

My computer freezes every time I use my camera. What can I do?
trnsp.gif Answer Normally if a camera freezes after a few seconds, it is related to the USB chipset you are running. Some chipsets do not have enough bandwidth to support a camera. Make sure you are plugging the camera directly into the computer while testing and unplug any other USB devices you may have except a keyboard or a mouse.
To resolve the issue, we recommend using the USB troubleshooting steps detailed in Troubleshooting USB Issues.
If you have the same issue but do not have the USB chipsets discussed in the document, please make sure you have the latest version of the Logitech camera software AND the latest version of DirectX.
You may also want to slow down the hardware acceleration. To do this, right click on the desktop and choose Properties. Click on Advanced/troubleshoot. Lower the hardware acceleration, apply any changes and try the camera again.
If you are running Windows XP, please make sure you have the latest sound card, video card and Windows XP updates. You can get the sound card and video card updates from the card manufacturers or PC manufacturers web site. You can get the Windows XP updates from Microsoft. With the release of any new operating system, we suggest that you check for updates to the operating system and hardware drivers. These updates can resolve many video streaming issues.
