If you don't have the knowledge it could cost more than a new notebook would cost. by a new one and sell the old one on ebay. might get 200 dollars

Hi

I think if you hit the delete tab whilst starting up it should take you into the bios

But be very carefull what you change in there maybe the F2 has been disabled but it sounds as though you may have a hardware problem have you done all the updates and checked out in the device manager to see if there is any problems in there showing up with warnings

Sony vaio vgn-fs8900p isn't booting

Most likely your hard drive has gone bad. It could be your RAM too. I know that you said you checked your ram one stick at a time. What if both sticks are bad? I would get some cheap (low MBs) sticks of ram that are compatible with your computer to see if your computer will start to run right with those in.

My Sony Vaio VGN FS630W turns on but noting shows on screen and looks like the hard drive is not loading. What should i do?

Your problem can be either a problem with the LCD connection or the laptop's suspend feature. Try this:

1. Close the LCD then open it again. Wait a few seconds and the screen should light back up if it is only a problem with the suspend feature.

2. If the above does not happen, do a hard shutdown by pressing on the power button for around 5 seconds. After it shuts down, turn it on again and the screen should light back up.

If the above does not work, seems you may need to have your laptop serviced.

Sony vaio vgn-fs630/w. the ethernet port and usb ports not workin

Hi,
The best thing you can try is a Static discharge.
Please remove all the external devices. Unplug the power adaptor.Remove the battery. There should be no electricity connected.
Then press the power button and keep your finger on it for about 30 seconds to release any build up electricity.
Plug in the adaptor and battery again and see if there is still a problem.
Maybe is a good idea to get a surge protector in the future.
Regards,
Purito

Sony VAIO VGN-FJ3M/W does not boot.

Possible hard disk failure or hard disk controller failure.
if you feel confident remove the hard disk and replace - obviosuly make sure that there is not power running and remove the battery - replace hard disk then battery then power and try again.

Do you get any beeps? is the hard disk clicking? listen carefully to it and post your findings.
