Last week while my 360 was still on i accidentally lifted it and heard a grinding sound from inside my 360. i gentlly put it down and then shut off the console. i turned it back on and opened the disc tray. my saints row 2 disc had 2 very large scrathes around it. got the game cleaned as well as a few others. but now my 360 freezes on every game even new ones right out the case. every time within 45 minutes or less at first and then just under 10 minutes. im also hearing a grinding sound which i think would indicate an issue where it would not read the game properly. also my controller would become un responsive and i would turn it off. the light on my controller would go off but it would not on my xbox 360. sombody please help me on if my warranty covers this or if need to get it fixed how much money it would cost or just anything that u know or anyone else knows. any help will be greatly apreciated!

if your xbox 360 is one of the older ones or the first released xboxes then it could be the start of the 3rrod problem this type of error can occur when the motherboard starts warping and the solder joints are broken which can cause similar problems such as this. i would also try getting the very latest game you can and doing an update to see if this helps. you may also be able to download the update from www.xbox.com. burn the update to a dvd and then place the dvd inside your 360 and when asked if you want to update select yes and see if this helps.
hey nickman 1234 i understand your issue my best advice to you is to call the manfuctor and tell them they have you mail it back so it can be fixed and they might send out a different one to you for meantime or call the store that you got it from and explain to them more because from the way its sounds its going to end up scratching your games ok man
Sounds like a wire hitting one of the fans inside. It could also be the hard drive if you have one.
Try to change the way the console is standing and see if the sound gets worse or better to try and narrow down the issue.
