All functions work except the cd player. Cannot even select function with remote. Have done full reset, checked battery, unplugged and replugged, etc. Was working fine one day and quit working the next.

Bose does not release their parts lists or schematics, effectively creating a monopoly for parts and repairs. In fact, their web site says that the Bose factory is the only option for service or repair. They used to list a flat rate repair charge on the web site, but removed it - probably because it scared too many people. Their troubleshooting guide (below) might help, but it's very simplistic.

Before you invest in expensive factory repair on one of these trouble prone sets, you might want to investigate the new HD radios -- better sound at a MUCH lower price.

CD not playing with bose wave system but same cd playing other audio player , On bose wave music system it is appearing CD is not reading . Please advise solution

The cd assembly is the issue, over a period of time the laser pickup becomes weaker until it can no longer read the disc, one possible solution is to buy a disc cleaning kit and follow instructions in an effort to recover the assembly. If that fails the only option is contact Bose for pricing since they are the only authorized service centre that work on their own products.

Six to eight years ago I purchased this system that included a cd exchange system. The cd exchange system stopped working and I threw it away last year. Now my cd played states it can not read the disc...

The Bose Wave System was very expensive, and should be at least checked with someone that can give an honest assessment. It is possible the Laser Pickup Assembly may need a good cleaning, if it works you can enjoy more time with it. If it fails then it is a matter of choice.

I have a Bose Wave radio AWRC-1g. The CD player

Yes you have a defective laser assembly. The 139 is a great price as buying the laser lens alone will cost you around 70 .Bose will also upgrade with any new software and will also provide you with a 1 yr warrenty.

Cd does not play

Does the radio work? If not, make sure the volume is up. If so, the speakers are not blown. Return your product.

My Bose wave radio with aux. for attaching to a CD player stopped working. I tried plugging it different places. It is an old system.

Unfortunately Bose will not release their schematics or parts lists, effectively giving them a monopoly on repairs. According to their web site, www.bose.com, they will repair most Wave radios for $100 or give you $200 credit towards the purchase of a new set. Check your options before you spend the big bucks though. A new HD radio, with better sound and a MUCH lower price, might be a better choice than repair of a problem prone Bose.

Bose Wave Radio w/single CD player on top

My Bose Wave Radio/CD developed this problem about a year ago. I don't use the CD player much and kept the unit clean. The disc spins but, the system does not read it. Cleaning the lens with cotton did not help.

Read that Bose charges $75 to fix this problem.
