Problems with my CD-RW\DVD-R

Ok, first, good day to you.
Now to the problem, my cd-rw\dvd-r combo doesn't read any data dvd (games, data, and so on). The funniest part is, that it does read dvd video disks and normal cds.
Any suggestions?

WizMaybe it's time to replace but try this last thing before opening the trash can lid:-
Go to my computer>properties>hardware>device manager and look down the list for your cd/dvd drives and click the '+' sign then highlight your dvd drive and right click to delete.
Restart the pc and windows will find the drive again automatically and install the drivers.
