Question about Computers & Internet
Dell are brilliant! I eventually found out that dell include a recovery mode in their initial build/set up. This was in microsoft technical articles. Soon after turning the power on press ctrl and f11. This then activates the dell recovery mode even when nothing else will work. On the disc provided by dell when you buy your computer is a program called norton ghost. It was this that allowed windows to boot up properly. I returned the computer to its original settings. I still get a black screen on boot up stating diskette search error and have to use f1 to complete boot up. Microsoft offer a solution to by un checking the related programs on the start up menu by typing various run commands. This might work but I'm not going to do it because my son's computer now works and i'm not risking anything.
