I have a GE Profile Refrigerator model PSCS5GX and the refrigerator part was fairly warm today. I went to reset the temp. to 37 degrees as it was at 33 when I pressed reset. However, it went up to 34 and stayed there ...could not get it any higher as recommended on the front of refrig. then it started beeping and asking to reset...but how?

Most likely your computer board got zapped. It's usually located on the back of the unit. Have you tried to reset the unit by leaving it unplugged for about 20 minutes?

Check the fan in freezer is it running? Check the fan by the compressor is it running? Is the compressor actually running? Be careful can be extremely hot.

Freezer frost then loss of cooling

There is a block of ice that is causing the air to not flow across the coils as it should. This is why the temp has risen. You can do a manual defrost by un-plugging the unit over night but I would call out a ref tech to check the defrost timer and the freon level. Hope this helps. Good luck. Please re-post with updates. Thanks cj2176.

check the defrost thermostat , and any temp sensor that can determine the freezer temperature.
If this fridge temperature is electronically controlled, the freezer control board must also be tested.
