When less than a quarter feel the need to vote for the effort some of us at FixYou offer, I think to myself, ”is it worth it”.

They get help, and do not care to thank you; “thank you” do not cost a dime, so why????

What's your problem?Compatible printers

I think you might have installed the printer twice. If that's the case you will need to delete one because if two of the same printers are installed it confuses the computer and confuses you. Only one printer can be active and if there are two you might have printed to the one that is not active so all the print jobs when into the print queue.

Click Start/Control Panel or Start/Settings/Control Panel. Look for Printers and open it. If you see more than one of the same printer then that's your problem. Right Click on the extra printer and select Delete.

Look down at the bottom right near the time and see if you see a printer icon, if so click on it to open it. All the print jobs you tried to print will be backed up in the queue so you want to cancel or all of them.

Printer stuck on pause

Look at the bottom right near the time and click on the icon that is for the printer. Open it and delete everything out of the print queue. You can also get to the queue by clicking Start/Control Panel and look for Printers. Open it and select your printer by clicking on it and the print queue will be shown.

It sounds like you might have more than one instance of the same printer installed and you printed to the wrong printer. One one printer can be online or active it you have two or more using the same connection type.

Click Start/Control Panel and look for Printers. Open it and see if you have more than one of the same printer. If so Right Click on one of them and select Delete.

Does not print

Click Start/Control Panel and look the Printer within the control panel. Open it and make sure you don't have the same printer installed more than once on your system. If you do then you can get the system confused and the queue backed up if you print to one that is not ready. If you have more than one then delete it.

Also open the printer properties and make sure you are using the right connection such as USB, LPT1, Wireless, TCPIP (Network).

When you open a document and get ready to print, rather than hit the print icon, click File, then select Print. When the print window opens you can click the drop down arrow on the Name to see if the same printer is installed more than once. You can also get to the printer properties this way.

If you have a printer icon at the bottom right near the time on your screen open it and delete all the documents that are backed up waiting to print.

Computer not recognizing printer

Printers drivers will sometimes lock the queue. uninstall the printer from the system and reinstall. if you cannot reinstall and get spool errors try this:

hold the windows key down and hit r on the keyboard.
in this window type in cmd and hit enter.
in the command prompt type

sc config spooler depend= RPCSS

if you can't uninstall read this article to manually remove a printer in windows

This may sound radical, but remove the printer entirely from your system. The next time it comes up it will load all printer files again. Next try to print a test page and quickly see if it got out of the que, with the test page. Hope it works for you,

It won't let me delete a document its trying to print on the hpdeskjet 1520. but it cant find what its trying to print or let me delete it!

Unplug the laptop.

Go to your start menu.

Locate "My Computer" and RIGHT CLICK.
Select "Manage".

Locate your HP Deskjet 1520, and right click, and select Uninstall.

After it has uninstalled, go to the top menu Action > Scan for hardware changes.

It will detect your printer, and want to install the drivers. Select install, and let windows automatically choose the best drivers/location.

Your printer should now be reinstalled, and the busted print queue now fixed.

Canon 4150 wont print , goes into queue

Have you gone into the queue and deleted the print jobs and started again? Do you have any error lights? If so there could be a hardware problem with the printer.
Try taking out the toner and putting it back in. Sometimes that will force the printer to reset intself.
If that doesn't help then you may have to delete the printer from the system and re-install it.

disconnect printer from computer
cancel documents in queue
if using a straight USB connection, delete all instances of printer. else remove duplicate printer icons.
reboot & reconnect printer (swap cables if not detected)
