Question about Sony Network Walkman NW-A3000 MP3 Player

2 Answers

Bricked NWA3000 wont' turn on. When plugged in to charge, the red light (charging) doesn't turn on. When plugged into computer with USB, not recognised and red light remains off. It was perfectly fine 2 days ago, and from then to when I first realised the problem, the player was just left in my room, no water damage, no impacts. Battery was at 80% last checked. I've tried reseting, but still unresponsive. Thought about reinstalling firmware, but as stated before, not being able to power up means I can't connect it to my computer. Help please?

Why isnt my ipod charging?

iPod's battery doesn't charge

Several things could keep your iPod's battery from charging. The major causes are listed below in logical order. Check each one to see if it's what's keeping your battery from charging.

Low-powered USB port

iPods that connect to USB ports require a high-power USB port.

Keyboards and some USB hubs will not charge iPod. Connect iPod directly to the computer or to a USB AC power adapter. Click here for more information.

Connect directly to computer

If you connect iPod to something that connects to the computer (like a USB hub or FireWire drive), connect iPod directly to the USB or

FireWire port on the computer.

FireWire port on a Windows PC

The FireWire (IEEE 1394) ports on some Windows-compatible computers may not be powered, and consequently won't charge iPod when you plug it in. Check here to see if the FireWire port on your PC can charge iPod.

Your computer goes to sleep

Your computer can only charge iPod when it's turned on and not asleep. Make sure your computer is on and not set to go to sleep when you want to charge iPod. Tip:

Some Macintosh computers can charge iPod even though they're asleep.
If your sleeping computer doesn't charge iPod, don't worry, just wake it and let iPod charge.

hope this helps

From what I understand you are charging with the USB cable. Did you leave it in at least for 3 hours (the PC also has to be on and not in standy or hibernation mode)? Do the glasses charge with the wall charger?

Wont charge

1.) Was the computer turned on and booted up?
*The USB ports provide no power under most computers when they are not on.

2.) Does the iPod work when plugged to the cable?
*If so then you more than likely have a faulty battery or port that is not allowing charging.

When you plug the reader in to recharge is a red light supposed to come on until charged? How do you know when it is fully charged?

Yes, the red light should be turned ON after connecting the Reader to te Computer. That means the Reader is taking charge. After getting it fully charged, the red light will be turned ON. If those things will not happen to your reader, perform the below mentioned stepos::
1. Connect the Reader to a different USB port of the Computer. 2. Connect the Reader directly to the USB port of the Computer; dont use any USB hub or adaptor to connect the Readr to the Comp. 3. Disconnect the Reader and then press the RESET button. 4. Try connecting the Reader to a different Computer to check whether the USB port of the Computer is working properly. 5. If the issue still persists, service may be required. Follow the below link to initiate the repair:

Coby MP-C7095 Won't turn on

On my Colby player there is a small reset hole in the back. Mine has sometimes just stopped playing and shuts off. If you use a small wire (paperclip works well) push it in and reset it.

I think you bricked it. When it says Do Not Disconnect, it means it!! If you disconnected it while it said that, you bricked it! The motherboard can be replaced, however, and it should work again. Don't think its worth doing that though.
