Question about Canon BJC 5500 InkJet Printer
Autocad printing. drawings print fine, but imaged photos attached to drawings not or partially printing. print preview looks fine. original images are jpeg and when imaged compress to jfif files. need to know if software driver problem HDI drivers or and internal problem with printer. thankyou regards Anthony

I had this problem too. It turned out there was old dry ink in there clogging up the printerhead and it was fixed after I ran the cleaning programme several times. However I can't for the lifeof me remember how to do that now. I know I found it online but it has since vanished. Maybe check your manual?

You are correct on your deduction.
It is the USB to Parrallel adpter. They are not reliable in the XP/Vista enviroment. I have run into this several times.

Tips for a great answer:
Check and see if the print head is sitting in the middle
Typically means replacement of the print head, try reseating the print head
