Question about Frigidaire FEF357BS Electric Kitchen Range

Open Question

Digital Display goes blank at times

Hi There, The digital time/temperature display on my electric range comes and goes. It gets dim, flashes and even goes dead for extended periods of time but always comes back on. If i turn on a burner then the display instantly re-appears but if i turn back the knob to off, its gone. Any help would be really appreciated. I apologize if this is a repeat post. Torontogirl:)

SOURCE: Dim Digital Display

Connie P, Unfortunately it is not possible to make the display brighter. The only solution is to replace the entire clock/timer. The price for the part is less then a hundred dollars and if you will give me the complete model number and a color, I can help you to find the best deal. Gendos...post back

SOURCE: burner on range will not turn off

You need to test the heating element, that probably is OK, It looks like the knob control is faulty.

My oven was set to self clean. It got extremely hot and the it began beeping and flashing F1. I turned the circuit off, because I wasn't sure if it meant "Fire". So is it ok to turn the circuit...

Frigidaire's slide-in ovens feature an electronic oven controller, which serves to monitor and diagnose most electrical problems within the oven. If any of the oven's electrical systems fail, the controller will prevent the oven from functioning and will display a flashing "F" code on the oven's digital display and produce a beeping sound. To stop the beeping and clear the display, press the "STOP/CLEAR" button on the oven's control panel. Many times, the problem can be remedied by simply resetting the oven's controls. First, turn all of the oven's control knobs to the "Off" position, then allow the oven to cool to room temperature. If, after turning the oven on again, the "F" code still displays on the digital display, contact Frigidaire, as the wiring is likely to be defective.

WHEN THE OVEN REACHES A CERTAIN TEMPERATURE, EVERYTHING SHUTS OFF. THE DIGITAL DISPLAY GOES BLANK. THE ENTIRE OVEN SHUTS OFF. WILL WORK AGAIN WHEN IT COOLS DOWN.

I had this same problem...I needed to replace the digital pad, cost about $200 online and took about an hour to replace. The heat from the oven wears out the electrical components in the pad...good luck!

Are the numbers missing parts to them or are they just not there in toto? If it is missing parts the lcd screen is fubar. Otherwise it is the electronics that are at issue.
