Hello, actually I have two problems with my RCA 24F501TDV;
The first problem was with foldover which I see can be easily repaired.
Not a problem.
The second problem, is the DVD player, the tray will not open with the remote or manually.
The TV with intermittently try to open it no matter what I do, so it seems to think the tray needs to be open/closed at all times.
Maybe I am wrong on that theory...
The tray motor does work, but that tray wont move, and the DVD inside it wont play.

What is the brand and model of your TV? Usually, you just need to press the VIDEO button or VIDEO/TV repeatedly until you see your DVD on it. It depends on which port you connected your TV. Make sure that your DVD player is connected properly. If you are using RCA, make sure the yellow cable (video) is connected to the yellow port of your TV and your DVD player. And also make sure that your DVD player is turned ON. If it still won't work, try a different cable.
If you have connected the audio video out of DVD to audio video in to the TVs front panel; what else to do?. Power up both the devices, goto the menu option of your tV, set it to vidieo mode, open the tray of the DVD by it open-close button, put a dvd disc in, push open close button of the DVD again, take the remote control of the DVD; select the chapter you want to see, sit back easy and see the recordings on the disc. That is all. OK.
This isn't a solution but I am unable to acccess the input either. My tv is hooked to a dvd,vcr and direct tv satellite with a dvr. I watched a movie on the dvd and the tv won;t allow me to switch the input back to satellite tv.
The drive belt that controls the tray probably snapped. Not sure about the mech on your set, but you can try and see wether you can lift the front cover of the tray slightly. Check to see if you can see a gear inside, using something thin you can try to manually turn that gear from right to left or the other way until the tray opens just enough for you to pull it open. If this is not possible, please refer to a repair technician. Please unplug mains from the wall before you check. Good Luck, Regards, JUS004
