Retuning of Ferguson digital receiver

On retuning my Ferguson FDT 600 digital terrestrial receiver I now find the channels 1 to 8 have been renumbered with the prefix 80, and are now at the bottom of the whole menu. How can I move them to the top of the menu? and renumber them 1, 2 or 3 etc? I phoned Freeview helpline who told me it was a problem with the digibox and Ferguson not issuing updated software. Can anyone help?

SOURCE: retuning Philips DTR 1500 digibox

Had same problem. Remedy is to put digibox back to factory reset. Dis-connect from mains. Keep pressing + button on front panel as you re-connect to mains. Red LED will be on, when orange LED blinks release + button. briefly press + button. You have solid red LED and blinking red LED. Enter code 9 9 0 0, by remote blinking LED will show green. Wait a few minutes and the instalation page will appear on screen. Go to update and start as you did before and C5 should be installed. Hope that helps.

2 Retune How to retune. Retuning your TV is a very quick and simple process. We recommend that you retune every few months to ensure you are receiving the very latest TV and radio channels that are broadcast. 1) On the remote control press [MENU] followed by 8 - 8 - 8 - 8 (so the number 8 button four times) 2) The First Time Installation menu will appear. Press [OK] and tuning will take place. I just bought a 19 inch Veon TV with built in Freeview. I can get TV 1 - 4. However, for the rest of the freeview channels - the reception is very very poor. Any reasons for this?

Hi Jane,
The main terrestrial channels generally have a higher signalstrength, so you may not get much better. Try auto retuning again. Also check line of sight of your aerial - does it point at a potential obstruction? (eg:hill or trees being the most likely culprits).

PICTURE FREEZES EVEY FEW SECONDS

Not enough info in your Q to help you.

1) What's the source?; TV tuner (digital terrestrial, cable, satellite. Internal or external tuner/receiver box)

2) One channel - some channels - or all channels affected?

3) Just this TV, or are other TVs affected in the house too

4) Are your neighbours having the same issues?

5) What have you done so far to troubleshoot the problem yourself? (retuned, checked cables, checked signal level, realigned aerial/antenna etc)

How to retrieve lost channels on digital tv

To restore missing channels, you need to retune your digital receiver (box or TV).

The retuning process runs a scan and finds all the available channels. Your box may have an Add New Channels option that you can use, but this may not pick up other changes such as channels being moved to a different multiplex or removed altogether.
How to retune
  1. Switch on your digital box and/or TV.
  2. Press Menu on the remote control.
  3. Select the Setup or Installation option.
  4. Select the 'First time installation' option (sometimes called 'Factory reset', 'Full retune' or 'Default settings').
  5. Press OK if your equipment asks if you want to delete all your channels. Don't worry, this is normal.
  6. If you are prompted for a code, try 0000 or 1234.
  7. Channels will be automatically installed. This may take a few minutes and your equipment may shut down and restart.
  8. After retuning, you will have to redo your Favourites list and other settings. If you retune a digital TV recorder, you also should reset future recordings.

I can get channels 1 to 4 can't get channel 5 and no freeview

Hi, I had the same problem, try removing your aerial from the box - retuning and saving so it blanks out all previous channels and then reattaching the aerial and doing another retune, this worked for me. Good luck.....

Lost bbc1 on digital only. retune and factory rest fail to fix problem. bbc1 received by another digibox on same aerial.

Try retuning again and then look at the EPG as it may be allocated to a different number than you are used to. If so then you will need to edit your channel list.

I cant receive freeveiw channels

I don't know what make of TV you have but some manufacturers have two tuners at the rear of the TV. One for terrestrial signal & one for digital signal. If this is the case put the aerial into the digital input & try retuning. If this does not work then if you could provide the details of you TV eg. make & model, then I will try to help you further.

Retuning channels on prope channel

The retuning process is as follows:

  1. Press the [i+] or MENU button on the remote control to display the DIGITAL INFO menu.
  2. Press the BLUE button to display the MAIN MENU.
  3. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to highlight AUTO TUNING then press the OK button to display the AUTO TUNING MENU.
  4. Press the RED button to start the auto tuning process for all available digital channels.
  5. Wait for the process to complete.

If you wish to CANCEL the auto tuning process whilst it is processing then press the BLUE button at any time.

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.
