    Very simliar issues

I haven't replaced the inverter board, however a system hang, and forcible removal of the battery has landed me in the same spot.

initial research tells me that my mainboard is probably cooked, as a lot of people have had problems with the a135 motherboards apparently

the only thing that I read that sounded like a success story of any kind involved someone manually replacing resistors on the board

Hi,
As you have already replaced both the hardwares then surely this is the issue with the mainboard so contact any H/W vender nearby.

If your laptop won't turn on, you could have any number of problems. The problem might be a genuine power issue derived from either battery failure or simply a loose AC adapter. Conversely, it may only appear to be a power failure, and the problem may lie with another component. Errors in brightness settings and LCD display malfunctions can both make a laptop appear to be powered off, and all these problems will need to be corrected. Look at the battery indicator light on your computer. Is it on? If so, check your brightness settings. If your laptop appears that it is not on, it may in actuality have lowered brightness settings. If the brightness setting is at its lowest setting, the laptop screen will be completely dark, and the laptop will appear to be powered off, even though it is not. Try cranking up the brightness settings. Check your AC power adapter. Is it snugly plugged into the wall or surge protector? Make sure the connection is made and it is not loose. Also, try connecting the power adapter into a different wall outlet. Check the status of your laptop battery by considering how long you have had the same battery. Most modern batteries are only good for about 1,000 full charges. After that point, the battery can and eventually will greatly deteriorate. Replace your battery if necessary. Replace your battery by powering off your laptop and then flipping it over and locating the battery cover outline, which will be near the bottom back of your laptop. Remove any screws with a Phillips screwdriver and pop off the battery cover. Slide out the old battery. Put in the new battery by sliding it in until it clicks, and then replace the cover. Consider replacing your laptop monitor. Your laptop may power on, but if the monitor display does not work, it will appear to be off and you will not be able to operate the machine. Check to see if your current LCD display works by plugging your laptop up to an external monitor using a VGA cable. If the external monitor displays your computer contents, your computer motherboard and underlying systems are still working, but your display will need to be replaced. Replace an LCD display by removing the screws around the bezel of your current display with a Phillips screwdriver. Pop off the bezel carefully and remove it. Then, locate the screws on the two metal brackets beneath the bezel and on either side of the display, and remove these too. Disconnect the inverter cable, which is plugged into the inverter. The inverter is located just beneath the display, at the bottom-center of the laptop. Then, pull back and slide out the old display, and replace it with the new. Put the metal bracket screws back in place, reconnect the inverter cable, and then pop the bezel in place. Replace the bezel screws. Hope this helps.

When i turn office my laptops model no cv3-4120ee fan is running

if you power off your laptop but fun is runing, then try to remove power adapter and battery from laptop, wait for 10 minutes then put battery back and plug in power adapter and then power on laptop and check if is OK now. If not, try to set default setings in BIOS, also you can enroll your Windows system with recovery point from control panel of Windows.

Dell ADAMO 13 w/Vista 64 Random power failure...goes dead in 1 second. Battery fully charged. Happened with external power and when on battery. I have latest BIOS v6.0. I ran pre-boot diagnostics...

If the power totally fails (i.e. power is cut off, LEDs turn off, fans stop, ... etc), then this more likely to be because of a short circuit developing in a failing semiconductor component, or a power supply problem.
However, if the laptop is still running & only the display on its LCD is cut off but the laptop itself stays powered on, then your laptop might be experiencing a failing screen inverter board, a failing screen backlight lamp, or a failing LCD screen cable.

TYPICAL INVERTER FAILURE SYMPTOMS

1. When you turn on the laptop, the screen lights up for a short period of time and then goes dark. You still can see an image but it is very dark, almost invisible and definitely not usable. When you restart the laptop, the screen lights up and then goes dark again. The laptop works fine with an external monitor.
2. Your laptop turns on but the screen remains dark all the time. You still can see a very dim image outline. The laptop works fine with an external monitor.
3. The laptop screen works fine for hours or even days, but sometimes it goes very dark as it mentioned above. When you restart the laptop, the screen works fine again.

Inverter failure symptoms are very similar to backlight lamp failure symptoms and in most cases you cannot tell which one is causing the problem until you replace either the inverter board or the backlight lamp. From my personal experience, inverter boards fail more often than backlight lamps. If you have to guess, replace the inverter first.

Laptop swicth of in the middle of working

First It may be a hardware problem, mostly when computer fans is not runing the computer will shutdown, to protect it from damage.

Second It may be a cause of virus infection that leads the computer to shutdown and reastart again.

so you must check if your fan is working correctly, also scan your computer from virus

My dell vostro 1000 laptop's display ain

if i read this right, when you power up the laptop you get fan spin but no display ?, if you just get fan spin and the green power light and nothing else the you have a motherboard failure, if you get LED activity and it seems to be working but you only have no display the its more likely LCD failure, if you DO get activity try this : power off the system, press power button while holding down the D key, this will run the LCD BIST SELF TEST which will run through full colour screens if fails this test you will et a beep code, please bear in mind you will only be able to run that test if you get LED activity, if you dont have activity then the motherboard needs replacing

No display in the monitor but the power is working

I have and have owned several acer aspires, I have two of them here in front of me right now actually.

the problem you have may be a symptom of motherboard or video card failure.

Take the battery out and unplug the charger for 15 minutes, press the power button down for 30 seconds - let go and then plug in the power adapter and try to turn it on, does the computer beep? does it work now?

if it doesn't turn on take the adapter off and plug in the battery, try turning it on now.

what happens does the computer beep? does the fan turn on? but no display?

Since your on warranty still yes? call your dealer or contact acer directly for warranty repairs.

my previous aspire 1522wlmi (2004) had the same issue. the display adapter / video card died.

Need help

Hello,

I understand that there will be no display when you turn on the Notebook. Let me assist you in this regard.

If the Power leds are glowing on the notebook and if there is no display, then you can try Power drain.

Try doing power drain by taking out the battery & keep holding down the power button for complete one minute to drain out the power from the computer components. Restart the computer after putting the battery in.
Try restarting the computer only with the AC power, without the battery & vice-versa.

That should resolve the issue if the issue is because of Static Energy loaded in the motherboard components.

If there is no display even after performing the Power drain steps, then it could be the issue with the motherboard components.

If there is no power at all on the notebook even when you try to turn on, then the issue could be with the AC adapter or with the Power jack on the motherboard.

Hope this information helps you.

NX7300 - no display after powering machine

Hi,

As there is no display but the power leds are glowing on the notebook, we cannot perform any troubleshooting steps otherthan Power drain.

Here are is the Power drain procedure:

Try doing power drain by taking out the battery & keep holding down the power button for complete one minute to drain out the power from the computer components. Restart the computer after putting the battery in.
Try restarting the computer only with the AC power, without the battery & vice-versa.

That should resolve the issue. If the issue persists, then you need to contact HP if your notebook is underwarranty. if there is not warranty, you have to contact service center.

Note: There is difference between removing/replacing the battery and power drain. Power drain should resolve the issue.
