How to run windows 7 with ah3450 grafic card on kod p4x266 motherboard?

The MSI PM8m-V Motherboard has the Via P4M800 and Via VT8237 chipsets.

The website for MSI Does not list any drivers for Windows 7 for your motherboard. But since this is a common Via chipset you should be in luck.

A lot of driver support for VIA chips is built into Microsoft® Windows® 7 (32- and 64-bit).

VIA Hyperion Pro drivers

The VIA Hyperion Pro drivers contain all of the main platform drivers for VIA chipsets. The current release of these drivers is included in Windows 7, so at this time there is no need for a VIA Hyperion Pro package that supports Windows 7. However, as updates occur, a package will be released when needed.

You shouldn't need them, but to download the VIA Hyperion PRO Drivers click on the following link:
http://www.viaarena.com/Driver/VIA_HyperionPro_V524A.zip

The drivers for your video card the ASUS AH3450/HTP/256M Radeon HD 3450 AGP Card can be found here:
http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/AGP_A_series/AH3450DI512MD2LP/#download

If you still need further drivers for this motherboard you can go to here:
http://www.via.com.tw/en/support/drivers.jsp

If you still have not found the drivers you need you can go to the MSI website and see if any of the Vista drivers will work for your system.

I have an asus ah3450 and when i enter some games my pc restarts

There have been many issues with the Windows XP Service Pack 3. The 'bugs' are supposed to be close to being worked out.

For ->MYSELF, I wouldn't use SP/3. However, SP/3 is 'slid' into your registry, if you have automatic updates turned on.

One example of reported problems,

Clarification Request

Hi jlg371,
Did you know that Asus warrants their boards for three years?
Why buy a new board when you can have yours' replaced by Asus!
While inside your case, look at the parallel port. There is a white sticker there. Write down the information onto a piece of paper. Call Asus tech at: 1-812-282-2787 M-F 8:00AM to 5:00PM EST.
It’s best to call in the morning. Get a case number from Asus. The way this works is you'll strip the board including the CPU. Box it & ship it back to Asus. You pay to ship it to Asus. (Signature Requested)!
Asus pays to ship back to you. Expect 2 weeks, 10 working days (Min) to pass before Asus ships your MB back to you.

Good luck jlg371!

Graphics card makes system reboot

Please shut down you're PC. Unplug the power cord from the PC. Remove the video card you have installed.
Once removed plug the power cord back in & start the PC. Press the delete key on the keyboard every 2 seconds untill the bios main menu loads. How to move around in the bios is shown at the bottom of each menu screen.
The Asus P4S800-MX motherboard has an onboard video card built into the motherboard. Before you can add a video card you must make a change in the bios. Go to Advanced menu.
Page 2-21 in you're manual. Change primary VGA bios to [AGP VGA Card].
Save & exit the bios. The PC will begin to restart. Press & hold the power button on you're PC until the PC shuts off. Unplug the power cord again, open the case & firmly & evenly insert you're AGP graphics card. Connect any extra power to the graphics card if required. Re-check all connections & cables before closing the case. Turn on the PC. Wait for windows to finish loading before installing you're video card software.
That's it. You're card should now function. Good idea to update windows!

Good Luck!
Mike
